Just when you think announcements for the fall 2013 season have slowed down, along comes another addition to Crunchyroll’s anime lineup: Kyousougiga, a new series from Toei Animation!
Kyousougiga is set to broadcast every Friday morning at 10:00am Pacific Time. Starting today, the first 3 episodes (numbered 0, 1, and 2) will be made available on Crunchyroll for all users. The next episode will be available Sunday at 10:00am Pacific Time for premium members, with free members able to watch the following Friday. Background and story
Originally an original net animation created by Izumi Todo, Kyousougiga centers around a girl named Koto, and her little brothers A and Un who wander into an alternate mirror version of Kyoto, where demons and humans live together, in search of their mother. However, their arrival causes a disruption on the long-standing peace that had long ruled the city.
Industry veteran Toei Animation, whose famous hits include the Digimon series, One Piece, and Sailor Moon, is also handling animation production on Kyousougiga. The cast features some heavy hitters including Rie Kugimiya, Kagura from Gintama, as main character Koto, Akira Ishida, Athrun Zala from Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, is cast as Inari, Chiwa Saito, Homura Akemi from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, plays Doctor Shoko, and Eri Kitamura, also known as Sayaka Miki from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, stars as Yase.
Kyousougiga will be available to Crunchyroll’s audience in the following territories: USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, and Europe.
