Nintendo Announces "Wii Fit U" Trial Version for November 1

Fitness follow-up hits retail in North America on December 13

If you're one of the fitness fans out there who happens to own both a Wii U and the Wii Balance Board, you'll soon be able to try out Wii Fit U for yourself. Nintendo announced a trial version of the upcoming follow-up, which will be available to download from the Nintendo eShop starting November 1.


The trial version—containing the full Wii Fit U experience rather than an abbreviated demo—will be on the eShop until January 31, 2014, and will work for 31 days after it's first played. Pick up the $19.99 Fit Meter to sync with it and you'll be able to, as the press release puts it, "continue playing Wii Fit U forever."

Once synced, the Fit Meter tracks steps, calories burned, and all that other stuff modern activity meters can handle. Just don't let the Wii Fit Trainer catch you slackin' or cheatin', we've seen what she can do in Super Smash Bros. …
