Japanese Theaters to Give Out 1 Million Preview DVD/BDs for "Kaguyahime no Monogatari"

Isao Takahata's latest anime film hits theaters on November 23

344 movie theaters across Japan will start giving out one million free preview DVD/BDs for the upcoming Studio Ghibli film Kaguyahime no Monogatari to visitors on November 16. The DVD/BD set contains a 6-minute preview titled "Kaguyahime no Monogatati -Prologue-" which was first introduced at the press conference on September 17. The first one million who purchase any movie ticket at the theaters will be able to get the set for free. The 2 hours 17 minutes long latest anime film of Isao Takahata (Grave of the Fireflies, Only Yesterday, Pom Poko) hits Japanese theaters on November 23. This is his first film in 14 years since his box office bomb in 1999, My Neighbors the Yamadas.
