Early last month an eShop trailer showed off indie RPG Pier Solar HD's updated look, with plans for a Q1 2014 release on Xbox Live Arcade, Wii U eShop, Ouya, PC, Mac, Linux, Sega Dreamcast, and Android smartphones. Now not only has the release window been narrowed to March 2014, but the fun is also coming to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
Watermelon Games President Tulio Goncalves made the announcement via a Kickstarter update. Unfortunately, the developer is still waiting on a response from Microsoft in regards to self publishing, so the Xbox 360 version is canceled at the moment. Hopefully we'll hear more positive news on this in the not-too-distant future.
Pier Solar HD upgrades the graphics of the original, and also offers 16-bit visual options, new mini-games, and more. Its Kickstarted campaign was successfully funded on December 5, 2012.
