Cast for Live Action "Lupin The Third" Film Announced

Japanese classic anime favorite gets live-action film next Summer

No, we are not talking about a fan-made You Tube version, but a fully official live-action movie of Lupin The Third has been announced on November 27th in Japan for a Summer 2014 release with a cast list. Will they meet the high expectations of the fans? Let's look at the cast!

Oguri Shun spent 10 months in training for the action scenes and lost 8kg to become the legendary thief. The film is directed by Ryuhei Kitamura (Azumi, Godzilla FINAL WARS) and written by Mataichiro Yamamoto (Close ZERO) and is currently in production at a location in Thailand since October 3rd of this year.

 

The original author Monkey Punch is reported to have approved the cast by saying that all of them are very attractive and as if they came right out of the manga. The story is set at the beginning of the pack's formation and revealing how each of them met. Besides the Japanese cast, Lupin's rival, Michael Lee will be played by a member of Taiwanese group, F4, Jerry Yan, and a Thai actor, Tanayon Wontarakun (spelling unknown) and a Korean actor, Kim Joon are also in the cast.
