"Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment" Hits Japan on April 24, 2014

PS Vita game offers up first-person mode, multiplayer, and more

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment has plenty of new action in store for fans of the series, as players control Kirito and dive into the previously unexplored Hollow Area of the reborn Aincrad. It also now has a date, with a Japanese PS Vita release set for April 24, 2014.

As previously reported, in Hollow Fragment you'll run into a mysterious new character, Filia, voiced by Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa in Attack on Titan).

Players won't just be stuck with the default version of Kirito. He can be customized pretty specifically, from a simple change of hairstyle to a full overhaul, name and all. The way Kirito interacts with his partner Asuna changes throughout the game, too. Becoming good friends will allow you to hold hands through areas, and increasing that further allows you to carry your partner.

Another recently revealed feature is a first-person view that lets players see the world of Hollow Fragment through Kirito's eyes.

Beyond the solo action, Hollow Fragment also has multiplayer for up to four players via ad-hoc connection.
