Free-to-Play "Initial D" Game in the Works for Nintendo 3DS

Beta test to kick off in January with the full launch set for spring 2014

According to this week's issue of Japanese gaming mag Famitsu, Sega is cooking up a free-to-play Nintendo 3DS game based on Initial D. Dubbed Initial D: Perfect Shift Online, the racer is set to launch in Japan in spring 2014.

 

Sega has a beta test scheduled for January, though there's not too much more info out there about Perfect Shift Online at the moment. It appears players will handle shifting gears while the car drives automatically, hence the name...
