"Pokémon Bank" Release Delayed in the West Due to High Traffic

Subscription service was originally scheduled to launch today in North America

Nintendo originally scheduled the North American launch of its subscription-based Pokémon Bank service for December 27, but some issues have caused a delay. The launch of Pokémon Bank and its Poké Transporter companion have been postponed due to a large volume of traffic on the Nintendo Network service.

The burst in traffic is causing problems for players trying to set up Nintendo Network IDs and download content in both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS eShop. The Pokémon Bank app was removed from the Japanese eShop due to similar issues, and its North American and European release dates are now "to be determined."
