AT-X Subscribers Choose "Non Non Biyori" as Their Best Anime of 2013

AT-X (Anime Theater X), a Japanese premium anime channel which is available via satellite and cable, has announced the top 10 anime series of 2013 chosen by its subscribers. AT-X started its service as a subsidiary of TV Tokyo Medianet in December 1997 and the current number of the subscribers is approximately 150,000. The monthly fee is 1,890 yen (about US$18).

 

The most popular title is the TV anime adaptation of Atto's slice-of-life comedy manga Non Non Biyori. The 12-episode anime was produced by Silver Link (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, Strike the Blood) and broadcasted between October and December 2013. It was so successful in Japan that the main character Renge Miyauchi's "Nyanpasuu!" was also chosen as the most popular anime phrase of 2013 by the Net Popular Phrase Grand Prix sponsored by Japanese web news site Gadget Tsushin.
