"Gundam Side Story: Missing Link" Brings More Mech Action to PS3

Third-person shooter has "Side Story" series making a comeback

The Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story series—which first kicked off on Sega Saturn in 1996 and also made its way to Dreamcast with Gundam Side Story 0079—is getting ready for a comeback. According to an interview in Japanese gaming mag Famitsu, Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: Missing Link is a third-person shooter currently in development for PlayStation 3.

Missing Link will let players choose between playing as the Federation or Zeon forces, battling on land and in space through different narratives for each. In addition to taking control of existing mobile suits like RX-78XX Gundam Pixie, there will be new suits and a customization feature for further personalization.

The Federation side of the story features a protagonist with a strong sense of justice who is part of an experimental corps of mobile suits, whereas Zeon's lead is more of a strong-willed ruffian. Whichever side you choose, you'll be taking part in group combat with three units you can switch between during battle.
