Crunchyroll’s winter slate of streaming anime gets a last minute addition in the form of Robot Girls Z, a new series inspired by Toei’s legendary super robots of the 1970s! Airdates and times will be available soon, but in the meantime, power up your Photonic Energy and your Rocket Punch...Robot Girls Z is coming!
Story and background
Robot Girls Z centers around three girls based on Toei’s famed Mazinger Z franchise: Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, and UFO Robot Grendizer. The girls go around Tokyo raising awareness about the promising new energy source “Photon Power.” However, when the enemy Mechanical Beast girls appear and attempt to steal the energy, the girls, collectively called “Team Z”, must battle them in order to prevent the Photon Power from being stolen!
Robot Girls Z stars voice actress Inori Minase, Suzune Tanahashi from Love Lab, as Great Mazinger “Gre-chan”, Kazusa Aranami, Tomoe Gojouin from Da Capo III, as UFO Robot Grendizer “Grenda-san”, and Mariko Honda, Romilda Gardo from Outbreak Company, as Mazinger Z “Z-chan.” Animation production is of course being handled by Toei Animation themselves, with director Hiroshi Ikehata helming the series.
Robot Girls Z will be available to Crunchyroll audiences in the following territories: North America, South America, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
