"Uncharted" Movie Attaches "King of Kong" Director Seth Gordon

Gordon to direct film based on script by David Guggenheim

It looks like Sony Pictures Entertainment's live-action adaptation of Uncharted has a new director, and it's an interesting choice. While others, including David O. Russell (American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook) and Neil Burger (Limitless), were in talks before, Deadline reports that Sony is now negotiating with Seth Gordon, who got his start with Donkey Kong high score documentary King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters.

Gordon has since directed a handful of features like Horrible Bosses and Identity Thief, but nothing along the lines of Uncharted. He'll be working with a new script by David Guggenheim (Safe House, Stolen), who Sony has also tapped to write Bad Boys 3.

Now we'll just have to see who they end up casting to play lead adventurer Nathan Drake.
