Yoshiyuki Sadamoto Attached to "Attack on Titan" Live-Action Movie

Character designer joins a fellow "Evangelion" veteran in director Shinji Higuchi

We're approaching a point where it seems like it wouldn't be that surprising if Hideaki Anno was cast as Grisha Yeager in the live-action Attack on Titan

First Shinji Higuchi replaced Tetsuya Nakashima as director. Higuchi was a key member of Daicon/Gainax, who made a significant contribution to Evangelion - also special effects director on the '90s Gamera trilogy and director on the 2006 version of The Sinking of Japan, and more recently, the director of Studio Ghibli homage God Warrior Attacks for Hideaki Anno's tokusatsu exhibit.

Now, the project is getting more Eva staff with Evangelion character designer and manga author Yoshiyuki Sadamoto named to the Titan movie for character designs.

Previously announced Higuchi and newly announced Sadamoto are joined on the creative team by usuke Watanabe (live action Gantz and 20th Century Boys, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods) and critic/subculture expert Tomohiro Machiyama, who wil be scripting the feature.

Haruma Miura is the first cast member named to the project.
