New "Fatal Frame" Horror Game in the Works for Wii U

Tecmo Koei continues multimedia expansion of franchise

The Fatal Frame series seems like the perfect fit for Wii U and its GamePad, so it's good to hear that Nintendo is partnering up with Tecmo Koei for a new entry in the series on Wii U. There's currently no title or release date for the game.

The last original entry in the series, Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, launched on Wii in Japan in 2008, and a remake of Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly hit Wii in Japan and Europe in 2012.

The next game joins Tecmo Koei's multimedia expansion efforts for the franchise, which include an original novel by MPD Psycho and The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service author Eiji Otsuka, a manga by Kindaichi Case Files writer Tadashi Agi, and a live-action film slated for fall.
