Mark your calendars for some more Transformers action. No, not just the upcoming fourth entry in Michael Bay's mega-budget film series, but also the next game, Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, which now officially has a June 24 date with Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, and PC.
Pre-orders made through GameStop in the U.S. and EB Games in Australia for the PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC versions will come with the Weathered Warrior Pack DLC. This includes new Decepticons Thundercracker and Skywarp for use in Escalation survival mode and two new weapons—the Electro Bolter and the Glass gas Cannon, which generates distortion fields—for campaign and multiplayer modes.
Developer Edge of Reality is handling all but the Nintendo 3DS version, which is in the works at WayForward (Ducktales Remastered, Contra 4, Double Dragon Neon). Over 40 playable characters across both the Cybertron universe and Michael Bay's films are represented, which works out nicely since Transformers: Age of Extinction opens a few days after the game hits shelves.
