Momoiro Clover Z Collaborates with Swedish Guitar God Yngwie Malmsteen

For the new version of "Bodacious Space Pirates" OP song

Five-member Japanese idol group Momoiro Clover Z revealed yesterday on May 16 that their upcoming digital single "Moretsu Uchu Kokyokyoku. Dai Nana Gakusho 'Mugen no Ai'" (Emperor Style) will feature Yngwie Malmsteen, who is known as one of the most technically accomplished guitarists in the history of hard rock/heavy metal music.

The original version of the song was released in Japan on March 7, 2012, and was used as the OP theme song for the 2012 TV anime Bodacious Space Pirates. The ex-Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman, who lives in Japan now, was featured as the lead guitarist in the original. The Emperor Style version is produced to support the media mix promotions for the 2014 feature film Bodacious Space Pirates: Abyss of Hyperspace. It will be available on June 4, then also be used as a support song for Nihon TV's The 34th All Japan High School Quiz Championship in this summer.
