Hopefully the little pre-E3 Kingdom Hearts III tease didn't get you too excited this morning. According to Square Enix, we shouldn't expect any new info about that or Final Fantasy XV at this year's E3 event.
Square Enix exec Shinji Hashimoto revealed this in an interview with Famitsu, peppering in some reassuring quotes about development and a post-E3 event set up for new announcements.
"First, I just want to say that Final Fantasy XV's development is progressing favorably," Hashimoto said. "In the company, we're always trying to figure out the optimal timing to release new information to the fans. We decided that this year's E3 is not the most suitable time to release such information."
As for Kingdom Hearts III, Hashimoto said, "Right now, we are working hard on the game, and I think that we'd like some more time to make new announcements."
So, while Square Enix could certainly turn around and surprise us all, it's a good idea not to get our hopes up for anything more than we already know on these two major upcoming sequels.
