Feature-Length "Dead Rising" Film Going Straight to Sony's Crackle

Film to be released on SVOD, DVD, VOD, and TV after Crackle run

According to a Variety report, Legendary Digital Media is cooking up a feature-length film based on Capcom's zombie-bashing Dead Rising series. The film is set to stream via Sony's Crackle service, with SVOD, DVD, VOD, and TV releases planned after the Crackle run.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura, producer of the Transformers films, will be executive producing Dead Rising, and Tim Carter will write and produce with Tomas Harlan through Contradiction Films, which previously produced the Mortal Kombat: Legacy series. A director has yet to be put in place.

Crackle will hold the domestic rights while Content Media Corp.—which also handled Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn and the more recent Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist series—will distribute internationally.
