Take this one with a grain of salt, because who knows if it will ever see the light of day, but a production company called Mance Media is reportedly developing a TV series based on Capcom's Resident Evil franchise.
The show as it was pitched is titled Arklay, and is set northwest of Raccoon City, the location at the center of the Resident Evil franchise. The area is is home to the Arklay Mountains, Arklay Mansion, and Arklay Laboratories, and the series plans to explore Raccoon City's mysterious homicides.
Arklay is the creation of Shawn Christopher Lebert, who confirmed with Polygon that he's "in the midst of writing project Arklay" and is in negotiations with Mance Media. While Lebert says he can't reveal any more story at this time, here's the pitch:
“When Detective James Reinhardt is thrust into a series of bizarre homicides, he unravels the city is hiding a dark conspiracy. Learning a fatal virus is connected to it all, Reinhardt discovers it’s already coursing through him. With time no longer on his side, he must solve the conspiracy to save his own life.“
Lebert also put together a pitch reel to convey the tone. There's nothing here from Arklay or anything original, but rather the video below is a compilation of footage from shows like Hannibal and other properties that match the target tone.
According to the Mance Media site, Arklay is coming in 2015.
