As promised, the Pokémon Company hosted a livestream this morning to make what they set up as a "shocking" Pokémon announcement. It turns out the reveal in question was Pokkén Tournament, an arcade fighting game being developed in a partnership with Bandai Namco.
We previously saw some leaks regarding a possible fighter, but this is the first official announcement.
The livestream took place as a collaboration between The Pokémon Company and Japanese gaming mag Famitsu, and featured Pokémon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara, Tekken chief producer Katsuhiro Harada, and SoulCalibur producer Masaaki Hoshino.
Pokkén Tournament is currently scheduled for a 2015 release in Japanese arcades. More on this soon!
