Anime Fans Weigh In On "Top 20 Anime I Want to Show to My Children"

Recent online poll quizzed some 10,000 anime fans

Charapedia recently published the results to an online poll that asked anime fans to pick the top anime that they would like to show to their children. The polling data included some 10,000 respondents ranging in age from adolescence to over thirty, with the gender ratios split nearly evenly with 54.1% male and 45.9% female.

Respondents were asked to pick their favorites from a pool of 70 animated works. The top 20 results are as follows:

20.) Puella Magi Madoka Magica (99 votes.)

19.) Pokémon (122 votes.)

18.) Little Busters! (127 votes.)

17.) A Certain Magical Index series (137 votes.)

16.) Love Live! School Idol Project (140 votes.)

15.) Natsume Yujin-cho (141 votes.)

14.) Digimon Adventure (146 votes.)

13.) SLAM DUNK (147 votes.)

12.) Angel Beats (151 votes.)

11.) K-On! (156 votes.)

10.) Kuroko's Basketball (158 votes.)

09.) Haikyu!! (165 votes.)

08.) Your Lie in April (175 votes.)

07.) Sword Art Online (181 votes.)

06.) Doraemon (193 votes.)

05.) Gintama (217 votes.)

04.) Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day (221 votes.)

03.) One Piece (227 votes.)

02.) Naruto (261 votes.)

01.) CLANNAD (370 votes.)

It's an interesting mix, with a surprising number of sports anime and light novel / visual novel adaptations in addition to the typical Weekly Shōnen Jump titles.

Fist of the North Star didn't make the list, though. I weep for the future.
