"A Silent Voice" Film Unveils Key Visual, Teaser Trailer, and Main Staff

Animated film based on manga by Yoshitoki Oima hits Japanese theaters on September 17, 2016.

A Silent Voice, an animated theatrical film based on the manga of the same name by Yoshitoki Oima, has revealed its main staff, a key visual, and 30 second teaser trailer. The key visual (below) depicts the main characters, Shoya Ishida and Shoko Nishimiya, in a location that readers of the manga will recognize instantly:

An English language version of A Silent Voice is released in print by Kodanasha and distributed digitally by Crunchyroll, who describe the story as follows:

 

"I wish we had never met. I wish we could meet once again. A boy who can hear, Shoya Ishida, and a transfer student who can’t, Shoko Nishimiya. One fateful day, the two meet, and Shoya leads the class in bullying Shoko. But before long, the class shifts its target from Shoko to Shoya. Years later, Shoya feels strongly that he must see Shoko once again."
