"Azumanga Daioh" Receives 5-Disc Japanese Bluray Box Release

Deluxe set to be released in Japan in July of 2016 features bonus soundtrack CD

 

Fan favorite Azumanga Daioh, a 2002 TV anime comedy based on the 4-panel comic of the same name by Kiyohiko Azuma, is finally receiving a Bluray box set release in Japan. The series will be released in a 5-disc set that comes packaged with a soundtrack music CD as a bonus. The set retails for 30,240 yen ($274.56 US).

 

 

The original Azumanga Daioh manga was serialized in MediaWorks' Dengeki Daioh shōnen manga anthology magazine. An English language version of the manga is published by Yen Press. The Azumanga Daioh TV anime adaptation is directed by Hiroshi Nishikiori and features animation by J.C. Staff. The Azumanga Daioh TV series is licensed and released in North America by Section23 Films under their Sentai Selects label.
