"AKIRA" Creator Otomo Directs His First Music Video for Aya Nakano

Kyoto-born singer's latest single "Juku-Hatachi" was released on May 11

Internationally acclaimed 62-year-old artist Katsuhiro Otomo, best known for his AKIRA manga series and its anime feature film adaptation, recently directed his first music video for Kyoto-born singer Aya Nakano's newest single "Juku-Hatachi (19-20 years old)" released on May 11. One month after the release, a full music video for the song is officially posted online.

 

Otomo, who has been a big fan of the 31-year-old jazz singer, previously drew the CD jacket illustration for her 2014 album "Warui Kuse (Bad Habits)." Back in 1991, he made his live-action feature film directorial debut with World Apartment Horror, then later worked on the live-action film adaptation of Yuki Urushibara's occult detective manga Mushishi in 2007.
