First 145 Issues of "Nintendo Power" Magazine Archived Online

Explore 13 years of Nintendo history, just don't bother calling for tips

If you didn't grow up during the reign of the Nintendo Entertainment System, the early years of Nintendo Power magazine will look completely alien to you. The graphic design is insane, weird original artwork is all over the place, and the whole thing is a mix of "here come some new games!" and "please call us for tips." In other words, it's amazing, and the first 145 issues have been archived online over at archive.org

From the original claymation Super Mario Bros. 2 issue to the debut of the Game Boy Advance, this is 13 years of video game history in a nutshell. Well, it's Nintendo history, at least, and I highly recommend perusing of the issues whenever you have some spare time.

The live-action covers were a particular favorite of mine, especially Castlevania II, pictured in the thumbnail, and the awkward Zelda II cover below.
