"Mobile Suit Gundam" Virtual Reality Experience Prepares to Attack Tokyo

VR Zone project to run from August 26 through October 10

Bandai Namco opened a virtual reality-focused area in Tokyo Plaza back in April, with plans to run the VR Zone: Project i Can space through October. Things are getting ready to heat up in the VR Zone with the addition of a Mobile Suit Gundam virtual reality experience, which will be available to try out from August 26 through October 10.

As you might be able to tell in that frankly amazing clip, participants won't be piloting the life-size Gundam as it battles an enemy mobile suit, but they will be clinging for their dear lives to its hand. The shock and awe of Gundam VR: Daiba Assault lasts for about eight minutes, and will run folks ¥1,000 (about $10).
