"Yuri on Ice" Unveils New Trailer and Cast Additions

Original TV anime about men's figure skating is directed by Sayo Yamamoto and animated by MAPPA

A new trailer and additional cast announcements for Yuri on Ice, an original TV anime about men's figure skating with direction by Sayo Yamamoto and animation by MAPPA, are now available online. The trailer introduces the three main characters: Yuri Katsuki, Victor Nikiforov, and Yuri Plisetsky.

Yoshimasa Hosoya as Otabek Altin.

 

 

Yûtarô Honjô as Chi Guanhon.

 

 

Hiroki Yasumoto as Christophe Giacometti.

 

 

Mamoru Miyano as Jean-Jacques Leroux.

 

 

Kenshō Ono as Phichit Chulanont.

 

 

Tomoaki Maeno as Michele Crispino.

 

 

Ayumu Murase as Kenjiro Minami.

 

 

And Kenji Nojima as Lee Seung-gil.

 

 

The story of Yuri on Ice follows Yuri Katsuki, who is thinking of retiring from figure skating after his defeat at the Grand Prix Finals. When an auspicious encounter puts Katsuki in contact with both Victor Nikiforov and Yuri Plisetsky, the three decide to challenge the Grand Prix series together..


Yuri on Ice will broadcast on TV Asahi and other stations beginning in October of 2016.
