"One Piece Run" Footrace Event Returns to Okinawa in March of 2017

5.5 kilometer race will include "One Piece" themed race course and special stage events at the goal

Aspiring pirates in Okinawa will have another chance to strap on their running shoes and race for the gold, because the "One Piece Run" footrace is returning to the town of Chatan in the Nakagami District of Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, in March of 2017.

 

 

The event includes a 5.5 kilometer (3.4 mile) race course featuring decorations and attractions based on Eiichiro Oda's popular manga and TV anime, One Piece. Additionally, a special stage will be set up at the goal of the race which will host music and live-talk events featuring guests such as Mayumi Tanaka (the voice of Luffy), Kappei Yamaguchi (the voice of Usopp), singer Hiroshi Kitadani, and pop band D-51.

 

 

The race will take place in 4 waves beginning at 10:00 AM JST on March 19, 2017. Registration for the race ranges it price from 4800 yen ($42.00 US) including tax for children to 5800 yen ($50.75 US) including tax for adults. Participants will also receive an original T-shirt commemorating the race.
