KyoAni's commercials for Violet Evergarden -- an anime adaptation of Kana Akatsuki's award-winning novel series -- have been turning heads whenever they appear online. The latest features the title character introducing herself.
"I will run as fast as I can to wherever my customer desires. I am the Auto Memories Doll, Violet Evergarden."
The story focuses on a scientist who, in order to help his blind wife continue to write her novels, created Auto Memories Dolls -- robots created to take dictation, but eventually lent out for other jobs.
Violet Evergarden won the grand prize in the Kyoto Animation Awards' novel category in 2014.
