Wimpy Girl Studies the Blade in "Asahinagu" Trailer

Live-action film adaptation based on manga by Ai Kozaki hits theaters in Japan on September 22, 2017


A new trailer and the official movie poster have been published for Asahinagu, an upcoming live-action film based on the sports manga by Ai Kozaki about a timid young lady entering the world of martial arts by joining her school's naginata club.



The original Asahinagu manga is serialized in Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits seinen manga magazine. The series follows Asahi Tojima, a high school girl who is quiet and physically unassuming. Asahi seeks to better herself through the practice of martial arts, so she joins her school's naginata club. Through hard work and determination, Asahi strives to compete in the national tournament.



The Asahinagu live-action film is directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa and stars Nanase Nishino as Asahi Tojima. The film opens in Japan on September 22, 2017.
