"Fairy Tail" Creator Aims to Work Hard to Release New Manga in 2018

Hiro Mashima has big plans for his next serialization

2017 has been a big year for manga author Hiro Mashima, who ended his popular Fairy Tail manga after an 11-year run. That doesn't mean it's time to relax, though. Mashima hopped on Twitter to share a '2017 Thank You' illustration, along with the promise that he plans to "work hard" with the goal of launching "a new serialization next year."

Fairy Tail kicked off in the pages of Weekly Shonen Magazine back in 2006, and the final anime season is coming in 2018.
