"Wotaku ni Koi ha Muzukashii" TV Anime Previews Another Nerdy Couple

Adaptation based on romance manga by Fujita heads to Fuji TV and Amazon Prime in April of 2018

Romance is always a tricky prospect, especially when work and hobbies collide in Wotaku ni Koi ha Muzukashii ("It's Difficult to Love an Otaku"), an upcoming TV anime based on the romance web manga by Fujita about nerdy couples falling in love.

The show has revealed the anime character designs for two more of its love-struck characters: Hanako Koyanagi (voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro), an office lady who specializes in cosplaying as male characters, and Taro Kabakura (voiced by Tomokazu Sugita), a salaryman who tries to hide his otaku-dom from his co-workers.

The Wotaku ni Koi ha Muzukashii web manga is serialized on Pixiv and Ichijinsha's comic POOL web site, and the series is also published in print form by Ichijinsha. The story follows the clumsy romance that blossoms when Narumi Momose, an office lady who is secretly a fujoshi, is reunited with former childhood friend Hirotaka Nifuji, an elite salaryman who is obsessed with video games.

The Wotaku ni Koi ha Muzukashii TV anime is produced by Aniplex, Fuji Television, and Ichijinsha and features animation production by A-1 Pictures. It will begin broadcast as part of Fuji TV's "noitaminA" anime block in April of 2018, and it will also be digitally distributed by Amazon Prime.
