"Hakumei and Mikochi" Anime Box Set to Pack in New OVA

Blu-ray and DVD collection will launch in Japan across two sets

Japanese release plans have been unveiled for the Blu-ray and DVD of the Hakumei and Mikochi anime, which makes its debut today. Based on the manga by Takuto Kashiki, the home video release will arrive in two sets, the second of which will pack in a brand new OVA.

Titled "Neji to Bed to Irori to Bakuchi" ("Screws, Beds, Fireplaces, and Gambling"), the OVA will clock in at around 24 minutes.

The sets will include six episodes each, and both will pack in audio commentary. There will also be a digest video, promos, and commercials in the first set, while the second includes clean versions of the opening and ending along with the OVA. The first set ships on April 25, with the second following on June 27.

The TV anime will be streaming on HIDIVE as it airs. Here's how they describe it:

While Hakumei is cheerful, outgoing and prefers to be outside, Mikochi is more introverted and prefers to stay indoors. These differences will set the tone for their friendship. Riding on insects and birds, creating tools from the forest and living their normal lives, they'll show us how day to day chores can be the biggest adventure in a small world full of wonders.
