Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou anime? Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet ("Juliet of the Boarding School"), a romantic comedy manga by Yousuke Kaneda that re-imagines the star-crossed lovers of Shakespeare's classic play as the rival heads of different dormitories at a prestigious academy, is being adapted into a TV anime. The leads of the series have been announced, including:
Yūki Ono (Josuke Higashikata in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable) as Romio Inuzuka.
And Ai Kayano (Rin Toyama in NEW GAME!) as Juliet Percia.
The original Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet manga was previously serialized in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Sunday magazine, and now it is is currently serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine manga magazine. A total of 7 collected volumes have also been published in Japan.
The story is set at Dahlia Academy, a prestigious private school located on an isolated island. For years the students from a pair of rival host countries have been at each other's throats, but all that begins to change when Romio Inuzuka, a 1st year student and the leader of the East Wakoku Dormitory, and Juliet Percia, a 1st year student and the leader of the West Duchy Dormitory, secretly fall in love. Can the two keep their romance hidden from the rest of the school?
