A new key visual (above) and a new trailer (below) have been published for Asagao to Kase-san ("Kase-san and Morning Glories"), an upcoming original animation video that adapts the tender yuri romance manga of the same name by Hiromi Takashima about a pair of high school girls who fall in love.
Additionally, it has been revealed that the official theme song of the OAV, entitled "Ashita e no Tobira" ("The Door to Tomorrow"), will be performed in-character by Yui Yamada (CV: Minami Takahashi) and Tomoka Kase (CV: Ayane Sakura).
The Asagao to Kase-san manga was originally serialized in Shinshokan's Hirari manga magazine before moving to the Flash Wings web publication. An English language version of the manga is published by Seven Seas Entertainment under the title Kase-san and..., and they describe the story as follows:
"Yamada may be shy and rather clumsy, but the flower gardens at her school have always brought her happiness. Suddenly, a different sort of beauty catches her eye—the vivacious track star, Kase-san. Although the two girls don’t seem to have much in common, they soon start a romance where each must learn an important lesson in tending their budding relationship. Can the two girls, so different from each other, learn how to make their first love blossom?"
Asagao to Kase-san was previously adapted into an "animation clip" entitled Kimi no Hikari ("Your Light") with direction by Takuya Sato and animation by ZEXCS as well as the image song "Kimi no Egao (album ver.)" by Hanako Oku.
The Asagao to Kase-san OAV is directed by Takuya Sato and features animation by ZEXCS. It will receive a limited theatrical release at venues such as the Shinjuku Wald 9 and Ikebukuro HUMAX Cinemas beginning on June 09, 2018.
