Idol Group Sexy Zone Member Kento Nakajima Stars in "Nisekoi" Live-Action Film

Filming with extras is scheduled to begin in the Kanto area tomorrow

The two leading cast for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Naoshi Komi's love-comedy manga Nisekoi are announced today. 24-year-old Kento Nakajima, a member of Japanese boy idol group Sexy Zone, is set to star as the male protagonist Raku Ichijo, while 21-year-old fashion model/actress Ayami Nakajo plays the main heroine Chitoge Kirisaki.

 

While working as one of the busiest Japanese idols, Nakajima has been starring several live-action films based on popular manga and anime:

 

  • Bad Boys J (2013/based on Hiroshi Tanaka's street thug manga)
  • Silver Spoon (2014/Hiromu Arakawa's farming manga)
  • Kurosaki-kun no Iinari ni Nante Naranai (2016/Makino's love comedy shoujo manga)
  • The Anthem of the Heart (2017/A-1 Pictures' anime film)
  • Although I’m a minor, I’m not a child (2017/Kanan Minami's romantic comedy shoujo manga)
  
 

Ayami Nakojo won the Grand Prix in the Miss Seventeen contest in 2011, and has been working as

a house model for Shueisha's fashion magazine for female teenagers, Seventeen. Her first starring

film was the live-action film adaptation of Koei Tecmo's horror game series Zero/Fatal Frame in

September 2014. She recently starred the live-action film adaptation of Ryoko Fukuyama's Fukumenkei

Noise romance manga released in November 2017, and is also set to play the main heroine Iroha

Igarashi in the forthcoming live-action film based on Mao Nanami's shoujo manga 3D Kanojo Real

Girl to be released in Septmber 2018.

 

 

 

The live-action film Nisekoi is directed by 49-year-old Hayato Kawai, who previously teamed up with Namajima

for Kurosaki-kun no Iinari ni Nante Naranai and with Nakajo for her 2017 film Let's Go, Jets!.

 

The film is set to be released in Japan on December 21, 2018. According to the film's official Twitter to recruit

extras, the filming will begin in the Kanto area tomorrow, April 24, and is scheduled to be finished by early June.
