The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Mine's fantasy light novel series Nidome no Jinsei wo Isekai de/[New Life+] Young Again in Another World confirmed on June 6 that the anime's production and broadcast were cancelled, with an apology to the parties concerned and fans. The Seven Arcs Pictures-produced anime was originally set to premiere in Japan in October 2018.
Soon after the anime project was announced on May 22, the novel author's past discriminatory comments against Korea and China on Twitter were found, then his political stance had been severely criticized by by people in Japan and abroad. He posted words of apology and deleted those Twitter comments on June 5. But the anime's four main voice actors: Toshiki Masuda, Megumi Nakajima, Kiyono Yasuno, and Nanami Yamashita announced their resignations from their roles simultaneously at 10:00 am on June 6 (JST). The announcement for the anime's cancellation arrived at the night on the day.
The novel was first published in the user-generated novel publishing website Shousetsuka ni Narou
in January 2014. Then the first volume of its print edition was released from Hobby Japan's HJ Novels
imprint in November 2014, and so far 18 volumes have been released. The publisher has already
decided to stop the shipment of the 18 volumes.
