If you're in the market for a new iyashikei ("healing") anime, there's one just around the corner. Yukiko Natsume's manga Okoshiyasu, Chitose-chan is due for an anime adaptation this fall.
The series follows Chitose-chan, an Emperor penguin chick, on sightseeing trips around Kyoto. Several spots popular with tourists are featured, including Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and the Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Chitose-chan also samples some of the local cuisine.
The series is set to be directed by Bananya director Kyo Yatate, and produced at Gathering. Okoshiyasu, Chitose-chan premieres October 5 on TOKYO MX and KBS Kyoto.
