  • Arata the Legend - A Review
I was rather disappointed with the length of this anime.
Arata the Legend starts out in a similar manner to Inu Yasha in that the main character is transported to a world where spirits and magical powers exist. That however is the only real similarity between the two.
The ruling class of this world is chosen by special swords. Of which there are only a handful. Each one has its own abilities and ...

  • Quite possibly the worst bad guy ever.
So the story starts off pretty decently, although somewhat predictable. This however is not at all the reason this anime falls into the category "abysmal mess".

Lets get one thing clear, the motive for a bad guy, in anything, must at least be an understandable one. Even stooping as low as "You have it, I want it". Alas, no, this animes reason is not so thought out. If you disagree..... ...

  • Already 2015 and I'm waiting for more.
It's already 2015. No second season. I finished it without realizing this and it has disappointed me. I wish for another season, but it seems there will never be one. Arata and Kadowaki's past wasn't really explained to me. Is Kadowaki pissed off because his run wasn't fast enough that he now wants to kill Arata? Sounds like a really stupid reason. I need more explanation then what was given. MORE ...

    Don't waste your time.
Main villain is just a whiny high-schooler who hates the main character because he thinks the main character purposely slowed down in a foot race they were having at school. TERRIBLE motive that can not, in any possible way, justify the amount of hate and contempt he holds. And that alone just kills the show for me. All of the characters have half baked personalities. The show doesn't have any ...

  • Liked more than I thought I would...
I watched all my current top choices, and while I didn't plan on watching this, I found myself enjoying this more than I thought I would.
Though, in my opinion it was nothing too special (I mean there is a ton of anime out there), I continued to go to the next episode until completed in a very short amount of time (a day or two).
At any rate, if you choose to watch it...enjoy.

  • So much potential, weak execution
There was so much potential for a fun anime in this but the villain was so crappy. His entire reason for being "evil" and fighting the protagonist is so childish and whiny it becomes cringe worthy each time he says anything. If you can stomach a weak villain and poor scripting of the overall good and evil fight there are still some elements to this. Would not recommend watching unless you are just ...

  • Arata the Legend of poor execution
While the animation and music score are very pleasing to see and hear, 'Arata the Legend' pales in comparison to the original source material. The first episode is hastily rushed leaving no time for the viewers to get to know the characters, and their back story's are hardly explained. Character development is painfully slow, much slower then it was in the manga, while others have no development ...

  • Like The Twelve Kingdoms, only bad.
The Arata anime was clearly written as the first season of a much longer series, in which the hero experiences profound character growth and explores relations with other heroes and villains who are deep and well-realized characters in their own right. Unfortunately, the production company evidently got the news around episode 6 that they'd only get 12 episodes, and they compressed the remaining ...

  • A review on arata the legend
This anime series has a very catch plot yet the episodes produced was very short if there would be more episode it would garner a lot of interested people. The plot involves two different kinds of worlds that would put interest to the viewer. It is really amazing to see a regular student like Arata himself would switched place with another Arata in another world. You can also manage to observe ...

    Had potential to be good
If this had many more episodes (maybe around 40-60), it'd do the characters and plot justice. As it is, character development (and most everything else) was really rushed. I guess they had to make that sacrifice in order to tell as much of the story as they did, which was a shame, since this did have a lot of potential. It's certainly interesting. One of the more important flaws was the reason for ...
