Ghost in the shell meets WWII warships
Excellent anime! for the scifi buff, mecha and/or gundam fan. It's something like a combination of ghost in the shell, WWII warships and gundam00. The anime shortens and changes the character development bits or non-combat parts of the plot based on the manga. But other than that is a great anime to watch.

  • What did you do with my military sci-fi?
    This isn't a terrible anime.
It isn't a very good one though, and the manga deserves a much better adaption.
A lot of the earlier plot elements remain the same, but the ending episodes in particular go in a completely different direction in content and tone. What was at least nominally a military scifi with some grasp of alien/AI encounters suddenly become this strange attempt at a feel-good ...

  • not a review just a question for the community
ok so i am new to the anime scene and genre so i don’t really know how this all works but a friend told me if an anime series doesn’t get a certain amount of reviews or likes. then the creator shuts down the project. i have to say, i really really enjoyed the show but you can’t end ep 12 the way you did without making a second season for it. can someone who is knowledgeable explain to me if this ...

  • Exceeded My Expectations
This anime was surprisingly good. I personally am not fond of anime CGI, I actually kind of hate it, but this anime's CGI was pretty good. I got used to it really quickly, so people who don't like CGI should just give this anime a try like I did. I was told this anime deviated from the manga a lot, I can not confirm that myself, but even if it did it was still amazing. This anime had a good ...

  • Yet another anime you can't put down until the end
Arpeggio of Blue Steel is one of those animes with a very comprehensible plot at the beginning. Then everything takes a dive for the crazy and this is why I was hooked on this anime so quickly. As the series came to a close, I had a desire for more and more. Maybe it's because of the Mental Models. Maybe it is because of the tense action sequences. Maybe it is the heartwarming feeling you get when ...

  • 1 Part KanColle, add 1 part Andromeda, shake and serve
A navel combat anime, with good action scenes. Cute girl avatars of ships, but not really fan service.

Aliens have landed on earth, and have taken the form of warships, each has a girl as an avatar. They own the seas, and communications between the continents, have broken down.

One sub, has decided that it wants a captain, and chooses a student in the navel academy, (who brings along ...

  • Great action, HUGE lull in the middle
There is a lot to like about this show. Naval battles! AI! Boobs! Guns! Technology! Strange 3D animation! Maybe aliens IDK! Supergenius kid! Talking teddy bear! Guy with dreadlocks! Anti-authority main character!

It also starts out well, building the characters and world at a good pace, with action and drama at a fairly good balance. Then, around episode 5 the action starts to taper off. The ...

  • Pianissimo to Fortissimo
Wow. For such a short anime, this one really packs a punch. From the first episode to the last, nothing but nonstop action. I rated 4 stars mainly because of the length. I would have preferred a few more episodes to learn more about each of the Fog Models individual reasons for following the captain. I also would have liked to have learned more about the fog itself. All in all, worth a ...

  • Great show, wish it was longer
Characters are likable and plot is fairly cohesive with nice battles! The animation style might turn off some people though. I only wish that they went more in-depth about some of the background such as the history, earlier battles between the humans and fog, or maybe how some of the other countries are faring. Hopefully there will be a sequel that will help flesh-out some of these details, but ...

  • Just found this title, but it is pretty good!
There are quite a lot of good review out there already, so I'll make this my personal impression.
I like it. At first the CGI threw me off a little but it became much better starting episode 2, eventually becoming so natural that it looks really good. Intriguing storyline and plot, though they are not explained fully due to the short, 12 episodes length. Characters are great, and their voice ...
