  • Good Story, Doesn't Go Anywhere
As much as I wanted to love this series for it's creativity and variation on the KanColle theme, I can't. Animation style is excellent and the characters are interesting (if a bit flat). The combat sequences are fun and exciting, and there was at least one sequence where I was sitting on the edge of my seat...

But this is a story for people who like naval combat and want an excuse to see ...

  • Wow, not what I was expepcting
But amazing anime. I was expecting some silly show with nothing but cute girls and explosions. It has that, but a damn good story and character development as well. I'm not sure what else to say, if you are reading the comments you should be interested enough to give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

  • Amazing random find. WATCH!
I had never heard of this anime before and just happened to find it while search "ar" on crunchyroll. Wow...what a find!

So the story starts off with something like a post-apocalyptic setting where boats basically have super powers and decide to fight humans over the control of the oceans. Then the MC meets a boat girl who has been ordered to obey him...then there's kind of a boat ...

  • Exceptional endpieces with a muddy middle
As a very casual anime fan, I often have a hard time finishing a series, even one as short as Arpeggio. The series started very strong and pulled me in quickly with impressive animation and a relatively unique premise. The middle of the series, particularly the episodes centered on the Iwoto base, very nearly lost me as the tone of the show took a dramatic turn toward comedy with a weird dash of ...

  • But You Have to Watch the Whole Thing!
This is one of those animes that you cannot judge by the first couple of episodes. Starting out, I would have given this anime only three stars. The 3D animation did not really appeal to me, the majority of the characters were bland, the plot was confusing, and I just was not heavily invested - but, I stuck around because I have OCD.
It was worth it! I'm not sure if I just got used to the ...

  • 3 Star Story, 5 Star Action!
I'll have to rewatch it later to form a real opinion. I never fully understand things right off the cuff. There wasn't really "character development" so much as a sudden change of heart. I can't really blame them though, seeing as how it's only a 12 episode anime. No harm no foul. The characters were fun, no sloppy melodrama. I mean there were a ton of crushes, but it was all very basic and ...

  • Love this series, good characters, funny, Battleships and Submarines. Whats not to like, right?
Well, they made a good one here didn't they Second series please, and a UK dub DVD would be nice and would send me straight to the shops to buy it to put on my shelves. I found the characters entertaining and individual, but who doesn't like a good battleship fight? No one? Okay, then watch this.

  • This Story Deserves Much More
I'm not wild about how this show ended. Like the Claymore anime, the ending is quite different from where the manga was going. That might make it difficult to make more seasons. If this is all we're going to get, that's a shame, because this is such a great concept, and the manga goes far beyond the anime.

Nothing really gets resolved in this story. The characters, frankly, seem a bit shallow, ...

  • Such an enjoyable story!! Love this series more than I expected!
The story in this show turned out to be much more than I ever thought it to be. As a major sci/fi nerd that also loves anime, I initially approached this because of the sci/fi aspect and my was it a fun ride. The art style surprisingly fits this series rather well for its futuristic and combative feel. One more thing, if freaking BATTLESHIPS personified by ANIME GIRLS battling it out ...

  • Love it - Nice art style
I had low hopes since the concept sounded weak, however the execution of the anime is brilliant. If you have a decent screen you'll be blown away by the colors. It takes a couple of episodes to get used to the art style, but it's an interesting and refreshing variant.
Overall the story is pretty nice.
