Arpeggio of Blue Steel Makes war over the seas not boring as you think

Ghost in the shell meets WWII warships
Excellent anime! for the scifi buff, mecha and/or gundam fan. It's something like a combination of ghost in the shell, WWII warships and gundam00. The anime shortens and changes the character development bits or non-combat parts of the plot based on the manga. But other than that is a great anime to watch.

  • Awesome 2.5D, Interesting Settings, Weak Tail
The 2.5D is amazing, especially when more refinement is done after the 3D production. Adding the mystery in the story, the anime has good potential. Many characters' personalities are easily seen, and the battles are exciting. However, toward the end of the anime, there is much slice of life time, whose moments are not always interesting.

(I had read the original manga before watching the ...

  • Pianissimo to Fortissimo
Wow. For such a short anime, this one really packs a punch. From the first episode to the last, nothing but nonstop action. I rated 4 stars mainly because of the length. I would have preferred a few more episodes to learn more about each of the Fog Models individual reasons for following the captain. I also would have liked to have learned more about the fog itself. All in all, worth a ...

  • Great show, wish it was longer
Characters are likable and plot is fairly cohesive with nice battles! The animation style might turn off some people though. I only wish that they went more in-depth about some of the background such as the history, earlier battles between the humans and fog, or maybe how some of the other countries are faring. Hopefully there will be a sequel that will help flesh-out some of these details, but ...

  • Just found this title, but it is pretty good!
There are quite a lot of good review out there already, so I'll make this my personal impression.
I like it. At first the CGI threw me off a little but it became much better starting episode 2, eventually becoming so natural that it looks really good. Intriguing storyline and plot, though they are not explained fully due to the short, 12 episodes length. Characters are great, and their voice ...

  • A Review: Arpeggio of Blue Steel
The plot is great. This has the element of a harem anime but the main story is so interesting that you may or may not notice this has harem anime elements.

Character designs are good. The naval ships and submarines designs are great as well.

Still wish there is a second season.

  • Eagerly waiting for next season!
    Where do we come from?
    What are we?
    Where are we going?

These questions are asked by everyone as they go through life. But apparently these questions are asked much more frequently if you are Japanese or a alien AI in the form of an earth naval vessel.

Even though this is the first season, they start out two years after the beginning of the story. Expect some things to not make sense ...

  • In one word: "Shazam"
Amazing anime. Not only did it make me laugh out loud with how funny it could be, but there were also bits where I got a bad case of the feels from the story. I loved the character development of the Fog AI. The only downside was the somewhat weak ending that included a "let's hug it out" moment. Overall definitely worth the watch.
