One Of My Favourite Anime This Fall!
After you watch the opening scene to Arpeggio of Blue Steel you should be hooked due to its brilliant art style. It looks astonishingly good, and the fluid animation makes it look even better. The story revolves around these warships that take the form of a human beings and are used to fight in a group called "Fleet of Fog". The main character goes rouge with his ship who's character is called ...

And this is why sailors refer to a ship as "She."
Anyone who remembers the live-action TV show Andromeda (aired 2000-2005) will instantly recognize the premise of a ship with an avatar embodiment/command system. Iona is the avatar of I-401, a submarine of the Fleet of Fog which has defected to the human cause in the naval war between the two sides. Apparently, while only some Fog ships possess avatars, they all possess advanced weapons ...

War on the waters of the world
    It has finally started!
And it started out with quite a good opening episode. I cannot wait to see The battle between Iona and Takeo. It's going to be great once all the other characters shows up. It's quite amazing that most of the anime is computer generated. Sadly it will be another week tell the next episode.

    Graphically 'Rebooted'
    Pardon the pun.

I wasn't exactly prepared for a CG like animation, it wasn't immediately noticeable and didn't really do much harm to the initial episode. It's an interesting take on personifying weapons and all the characters, not immediately introduced, look as though they may become more interesting over time. While it make take a while for my eyes to adjust to the random stiffness in ...

    Great premise, unusual animation
    This is a tough one.
I watched this episode, because I thought that the naval battles, and high-tech would make for some good action scenes, and the Military/Political story is something I'd be very interested in.
But the animation lets it down, in my opinion. I can appreciate that the crispness, and consistency of it would appeal to some people, but to me, the end result is characters who ...

    Unique and Interesting
Upon watching the initial episode, I can't say that it didn't pique my interest. A story line in which humanity is a target by phantom ships because climate changed caused an increase water level.

The first episode did a great job capturing my attention and I'll continue to watch the upcoming episodes to see this show unfold.

The graphics aren't too bad. Many other reviews stated they ...

A good start can't wait to see where they take it.
A promising start to the anime.
The graphics and audio are good, though the CGI makes some characters look odd.

As someone who follows the manga I notice quite a few changes to the back story, or at least changes to what they have shown us so far. Also the naval combat seems simplified from what is shown in the manga, though that might change later.

I think it is good from what I have seen ...

Submarines, Battles Ships, & Kawaii Chicks!
This is my first review, so yeah here goes.
Arpeggio of Blue Steel just totally pulled me in, I thus far luv the characters and the story/backstory I just found interesting.
True, there are some parts when the characters converse the CG (I think is what it's called) looks a bit weird, but it didn't really phase me.
Any who, I found it just interesting and would recommend you give it a ...

Humanity Will Once Again Win Over It's Alien Invaders
It's not a new concept but this series has a good storyline. The planet was nearly destroyed, aliens invade during the planets weakend state and humanity starts to win over the alien invaders. After just two episodes there is still a lot of backstory that needs to be told but this series is showing a lot of promise. If you liked Moretsu Pirates (Bodacious Space Pirates) you are bound to like this ...

Ghost in the shell meets WWII warships
Excellent anime! for the scifi buff, mecha and/or gundam fan. It's something like a combination of ghost in the shell, WWII warships and gundam00. The anime shortens and changes the character development bits or non-combat parts of the plot based on the manga. But other than that is a great anime to watch.
