Fantasy sci-fi escapism at some of its best
The opening theme music for this show sets the stage quite nicely; this is a show where the world is not quite right, where everything is precariously balanced, and things could fall apart at any minute.

The show deals with themes of risk and self sacrifice. There are big mecha, big explosions, magic, a love story, fantasy characters, and a science fiction tapestry holding it all together. And ...

  • Worth watching but Sad
It was worth watching and it has some harem elements, some mech stuff. There's the occult stuff in there too for the creepy peeps. The character development isn't particularly deep, but I'm picky like that.

Pretty depressing story though. Get out your Prozac for season 2.

  • Great show from beggining to end!
I really enjoyed Asura Cryin', it had a lot of action involving mecha and good humor with the protagonists. The story got confusing at points but it was easy to follow. This is a different anime as the protagonist isn't the center of the story and the supporting characters greatly impact the story. Overall great show.

  • Anime with Demons, Mechas, and Ghost girls.
I loved this anime, although it isn't one of my top 5, it definitely is in my top 10 or 15. I don't know why, but I just love Mechas. At first I didn't think I would like this anime just because the mechas weren't controlled manually. I hesitated watching this because I could tell it would be a shadow mecha anime, but I ended up loving it. At some parts it is a bit hard to follow up, but you'll ...

  • Good anime packed with stuff!
Giant robots, ghost girls, demons, and different worlds. This is one you should definitely watch if you get bored easily. It is a little hard to follow at times, and the beginning is pretty slow.. but then the second season seems so fast.

  • Machines=Action, Boobs=Comedy, and Saving the World=Suspense
I REALLY liked it... It was funny, sad, amusing, entertaining... need I go on??? I watched it to the very end. It kept me interested from the very beginning which sadly not all Animes can. Even though the ending is kinda of a cliff hanger *spoiler alert*.......... It does not show who he picks outta the two main girls which he both loves. I think that is why I enjoyed it since it so, both girls ...

  • Asura Cryin': Big Robots, Magic, Demons, and Boobs
Being a huge Gundam fan, I'm always a sucker for anime with big robots, so when I happened upon Asura Cryin', I was vaguely intrigued by the synopsis. I watched the first episode and I was like, OK, this seems interesting. Then I watched the second, third, and before I knew it, I was averaging almost 3 episodes a night!

Asura Cryin' follows Tomoharu "Tomo" Natsume, a high-school student whose ...
