I wish this was food, so I could have it inside me.
Based on the light novel series, that I've never read..., Bakemonogatari, not to be confused with Bakugan (which is horrible) or Gataroo Man (an atypical rhythm game) is a series of episodic, intertwining stories revolving around a cast of 'cursed' individuals. The main perver- protagonist, Araragi sets about, in each instance, to help his variable harem (all his friends are ladies) rid ...

    A surreal experience
Watching this series is like walking through a dream. Each character adds to the quirky pervasiveness that made me fall in love with the show to begin with, and their struggles and interactions linger in my heart long after I'm done watching an episode.

  • Different take on the genre
I don't want to repeat the reviews ad nauseum here. There is an order to watch this series, the good thing is this is the start!

My first piece of advice is regarding the style they happen to have edited this with. There are lots of chopped in frames (almost like subliminal advertising) that you are going to make you feel like you're missing something. Well, you are to an extent but they ...

Just thought I'd chuck a word in...
Okay, so I read the 5 star review and I've read the one star reviews.
-I've got very little to add, read one or two of each, and I must remind you the confusing series order is Bakemonogatari>Nisemonogatari>Nekomonogatari>Bakemonogatari second season.

Alright, but I should add in quick summary, this particular series (because that's what this review is posted on) is visually beautiful but ...

    Not Perfect, but undeniably different
Bakemonogatari never had me determinedly stringing episodes together, nor was it one of the best anime I've seen. While I was never addicted to the show, nor had I ever fallen in love with it, I was so very close to both. It wasn't boring, and it wasn't in any sense bad. In fact if it were a little better, I WOULD have been addicted, and I WOULD have fallen in love with the show.

    What makes ...

  • A not bad anime series
A overall no bad series, I don't like that crunchyroll left out episodes 13-15. I felt like they could of worked more on the characters. I give the series 3.7 out of 5 based on the plot alone and the overall feeling of the anime. I would recommend this.

WARNING ADICTION TO SERIS MAY OCCUR.
Just like the title said this series is addicting. The series starts out quite intense when...
(that scene seriously made me cringe). To be honest it almost made me stop, but I'm soooo happy I didn't. This show is full of action, with some fan service of course. Actually the fan service in this show isn't that bad but it goes ...

    One of my favorite shows
The other reviews can say it better than I can. Great story, ties a lot of pop culture into the dialogue. The abstract animation enhances the way the story is told.

There is an overarching arc, with smaller arcs that comprise several episodes. I will say that there doesn't seem to be much of a point to the main arc, and I've watched the shows that follows bakemonogatori (at least in my ...

    Distinctive Style and Imaginative Storytelling
Many modern anime will exhibit interesting and unusual camera angles, this one almost reinvents the art of the camera angle completely, as to the art itself, the backgrounds are superb and the character treatment is excellent. This series also shatters the tradition of having the same music opener and closer (baring legal issues) for a season, I believe this one had five openers (havent ...

Probably one of the more interesting and unique animes out there
The visuals are stunning, the characters are intriguing and the world they inhabit is odd, but somehow you easily just slide into the world they are offering you. Having Crunchyroll have this available is amazing.

HOWEVER. As others have mentioned, if you are going to bring a series here MAKE SURE YOU GET ALL THE EPISODES. I know there will always be issues when it comes to licensing...but COME ...
