If Quentin Tarantino directed anime, it would look a little something like this. . .
Imagine Bunraku, the style and manner in which the story line is delivered. It's very unique, edgy, shows more quotes and pictures per frame than your brain can keep up with. Which in my opinion is done on purpose, they want to overload your senses so you have to focus and pay attention. It's one that you'll watch a second and maybe even a third time, just to pick up on all of the stuff you missed ...

    What An Experience...
This series definitely put its mark on anime history as one of the most interesting and unique series of all time. You have all of your staple traits from Shaft at their best: the head tilting, the tsundere, the dialogue, and the animation as a whole. The characters are very interesting, and I was surprised at how they kept me hooked to the episodes in the moments that seemed to make me want to ...

    Interesting and Touching
The story of this anime is sublime. I was touched by every character's personal stories, and how the main character develops such relationships with them. The animation is of really good quality, though different from what you'd normally be used to. I love the music for the series as well. Each OP is tailored for the character they are about, and they reflect the character's personality or aura ...

    Never not entertaining.
I imagine the guy who wrote this anime/manga was a Japanese version of Kevin Smith who was touched as a child. The dialogue is just absolutely amazing. Don't get me wrong, the art style and animation are great as well, but the dialogue is what really carries this anime. I can't really describe it either, it's very combative dialogue between the main character and everyone else. It's as if he is ...

    A surreal experience
Watching this series is like walking through a dream. Each character adds to the quirky pervasiveness that made me fall in love with the show to begin with, and their struggles and interactions linger in my heart long after I'm done watching an episode.

    One of my favorite shows
The other reviews can say it better than I can. Great story, ties a lot of pop culture into the dialogue. The abstract animation enhances the way the story is told.

There is an overarching arc, with smaller arcs that comprise several episodes. I will say that there doesn't seem to be much of a point to the main arc, and I've watched the shows that follows bakemonogatori (at least in my ...

    Distinctive Style and Imaginative Storytelling
Many modern anime will exhibit interesting and unusual camera angles, this one almost reinvents the art of the camera angle completely, as to the art itself, the backgrounds are superb and the character treatment is excellent. This series also shatters the tradition of having the same music opener and closer (baring legal issues) for a season, I believe this one had five openers (havent ...

Read Quickly, Or You'll Miss Out!
There's some fantastic dialogue here, and some wonderfully written, witty banter in the subtext, too. The animation is striking, beautiful and at the same time playful. These monster tales are classic in origin and vibrantly recreated to form a whole new level of myths, a delectable treasure for the eyes, mind and soul to enjoy.

A very nice collection of monster stories.
Okay, just for those who don't know, the title of this show roughly translates to monster stories, hence the title of the review.

Now then, this show (Along with the other Monogatari series) has made it's way into my top 5 shows. I was highly impressed by this show, and it was much better than I expected it to be coming into it. I recommend it to anyone looking for something unique, or ...

This is one of those shows that is special
There are a lot of great anime shows out there

then there are those great shows that just take it to another level. They are appealing, playful, cheery, and cute, but make you think. They have minor twists and turns but the characters are what drive the events and ultimately, the show; not the events that drive the characters. Which just goes to say how well thought out these characters ...
