  • It was great, totally
The anime is very interesting and appealing to the eye, which keeps me coming back for more. I love the Araragi as a character as a character. He's very relatable as a person, well, more as a guy. I do find that the anime does take some adjusting to because of the cut scenes that I'd have to admit are a bit quick for the first season. I did love that, even though I didn't at first, I came to love ...

  • Non-chronological storytelling is part of the mystery
For people feeling lost and sensing that you're missing something, relax. This collection of anime is all about mystery. Enjoy the ride. You aren't meant to necessarily know what's happened in the past. As you can see, much of the story has aired in a non-chronological order. That's part of the experience. I recommend sticking with the order the episodes aired.

    Sequential ...

  • Unique and Interesting
While reading other reviews,I saw some people saying it was repetitive,or even normal. They're opinions are okay,of course,I'm not against that, but there are so many reasons as to why they're wrong. The show presents an odd,yet somehow appealing art style, flashing messages on the screen and viewing the characters from odd angles to create a strange perspective for the viewer. The art isn't nearly as ...

    Ordinary high school romance anime
I personally thought that this is just another ordinary high school romance anime... the typical main male protagonist, good in all aspects... love to save damsels in distress, in this case, several damsels... even including a non-damsel... 500 years old hag who is a vampire past her expiry date (according to the series).

Undoubtedly, this series caters to the straight male audience, as most ...

  • Altair, Deneb and Vega
NOTE: this review lacks a synopsis, I'd also like to mention I tend to write reviews for people like myself who probably wouldn't watch something like this on their own. So all ou action junkies, like myself, will find Bakemonogatari lacking. But I've been expanding my pallete and this satisfied. It contains several interesting and diverse characters and a plot that focuses on the emotional ...

not bad, but i expected more (considering how much this show is praised)
I really wanted to love this show when I started it. It looked like something I'd like. The art, music and presentation were nice and stylish, but I wanted more out of the story. The main male character is pretty dull. Hitagi's parts of the story were my favorite, i liked their dialogues and especially episode 12, but some of the other characters' mini-arcs were hit or miss for me. Felt like some ...

    Maybe I missed something
I feel as if I was missing a focal plot throughout the anime. It had it's moments where I was interested but otherwise I was just waiting for it to get to the point. The moments of supernatural encounters and fights were drawn really well and showed a lot of emotion. Besides that I felt like the rest was filler? The bulk of the anime seemed to be unnatural conversations that repeated the same ...

    Unique Art and Repetitive Story
Bakemongatari is incredibly repetitive. It seems that every three to four episodes the story starts over again. On top of that the art is different from typical anime art styles, in my opinion it's a bad different. To be honest though, the story is interesting, the only reason I rated it so low is because if the story keeps repeating it becomes less entertaining. Some people might like it, but ...

    A Brilliant Series!!
Bakemonogatari is one of those rare animes where everything falls into perfect alignment. The characters, word play, animation, and even the story is incredibly well executed. Not only that, but the anime can be considered as a beautiful experience on its own. Overall, it's unique experience that everyone should enjoy.

  • Absolutely Adore the Series as a Whole
I haven't seen all the seasons/series of monogatari yet, but I have seen all of Bakemonogatari. I discovered this little gem playing on a tv in a shop at a convention and immediately gobbled it up. I love the mixture of awkwardness, the quick succession of jokes, the air of Fantasy - so on and so forth. The Characters come of as simplistic at first, but really do have personalities that develop ...
