  • Review 1 - Bakemonogatari
... *sounds of pain, entertainment, suffering, pain, pain, and more pain can be heard inside me*

Oh. Man, my friend offered me to watch this. I'm kinda burning on the inside because of the concept. I kinda like this stuff, so that's why I am burning on the inside.

  • A Pleasant Surprise.
I am new to anime and am at a point in my life right now I am just in it for the fun. I usually prefer the lighter ecchi comedies. I have noticed the Monogatari Series mentioned several times on r/anime but didn't pay too much attention to the reviews about it. I was just looking for the next lighthearted romp and this had a lot of episodes so I thought it might be engaging for a few weeks if ...

  • If Quentin Tarantino directed anime, it would look a little something like this. . .
Imagine Bunraku, the style and manner in which the story line is delivered. It's very unique, edgy, shows more quotes and pictures per frame than your brain can keep up with. Which in my opinion is done on purpose, they want to overload your senses so you have to focus and pay attention. It's one that you'll watch a second and maybe even a third time, just to pick up on all of the stuff you missed ...

Bakemonogatari stands out from the crowd of generic and bland anime and is a one-of-a-kind experience.
Welcome to my review of one of the most successful anime of the past years and one of my personal favorites; Bakemonogatari by Studio SHAFT.

Neither the story nor the premise are anything new or unique and the whole thing remains pretty aimless for the most part to be honest but it has a solid concept which it stays honest to. The story is seperated into few story arcs, each focusing ...

    What An Experience...
This series definitely put its mark on anime history as one of the most interesting and unique series of all time. You have all of your staple traits from Shaft at their best: the head tilting, the tsundere, the dialogue, and the animation as a whole. The characters are very interesting, and I was surprised at how they kept me hooked to the episodes in the moments that seemed to make me want to ...

The 'Monogataris' are a great set of anime.
I just finished all 3 of the Monogatari seasons. (Bakemonogatari, Nisemonogatari and Monogatari: Second Season). All of them were simply amazing. You might find yourself confused at times but if you carry on watching, your confusion will be cleared up in a later episode. A lot of text shows up and disappears too quick for you to read during each episode but they don't contribute to the plot so ...

  • A welcome surprise//
The Monogatari series really surprised me. I wasn't expecting much other than Ecchi coming in, really only giving it a shot for the art. Instead I was surprised with a surprisingly deep male lead who was genuinely a good guy with real character flaws that didn't boil down to "i'm a fucking moron." The "harem" cast is also diverse enough, and lacks any of the usual annoying mainstays we get in the ...

  • Truly a unique and fun anime.
This anime style just drew me in. Though it was tough to keep up with some of the scene cards that flash a message quickly (I ended up skipping back to see what I missed reading) the anime visually was great. The concept of helping people with unique monsters was something that also caught me. I still have to watch the OWAs (though I wish they were available here) but I know it will not change my ...

    Confusing, yet satisfying.
This anime is very confusing, and hard to pick up. There is a few ecchi scenes in it, and it is an okay anime overall. If you like to watch a simple show that you can understand, then this show is not for you. Only watch this if you want to be confused and not know what's happening, but at the same time like the show. I don't know how to explain it any better than that. You would have to watch it ...

    Bakemonogatari is Absolutely Amazing!
What more can I say? Yes, there are elements of ecchi in it. But the story, the characters, the emotions, the artisticness and the uniqueness of it. This is hands down, the best anime series I've ever watched. I fully plan on going on to watch Nisemonogatari, Nekomonogatari, and Monogatari Series 2.

Crunchyroll doesn't have the last three episodes of Bakemonogatari, however. This was ...
