  • The beginning of a cult series of humans and their monstrous side
Background of the series and Original source material
The novel Bakemonogatari published in 2006 and its successors, were written by palindromic author NISIOISIN who also wrote Katanagatari and reached fame becoming the most successful novelist in Japan reaching high sales and devoteed fandom. The anime will get its adaptation in 2009 by director Akuyuki Shinbou by ...

  • Absolutely love this series!
Found this show when I first joined Crunchy Roll. Immediately loved the storyline. Despite Koyomi being extremely creepy at some moments in the show, I did enjoy the fact that he would do anything and everything to protect the people he cherishes and loves.

  • It's Like my Uncle's stories
Speaking of Bakemonogatari and the many related series, I would just say it is amazing. Characters (mostly young and female) are all uniquely defined and interesting, with one exception. (You'll recognize her when you meet her, but she shows up later, not in Bakemongatari.) The scenes are lavish. I've heard that Japanese people have great bathrooms, but the Araragi family's is fantastic. Most of ...

Great series, my absolute favorite, but...
This series is amazing. The word play, the characters, the plot, everything about it is great. The only problem is that Crunchyroll has made watching it awkward. For example, Bakemonogatari is missing episodes 13, 14, and 15. Hanamonogatari is under Monogatari Second Season and the 5 episodes are combined in one long video.

    bumed missing eps...
I liked the show. I would give more stars. But, was upset to discover only 12 of the 15 eps are available here. Looking in to how to see the last three parts. Finding out side of illegal options the only other is to spend $150.00 to get the show on blu-ray.

A Unique, Stylish, and Memorable Anime
    Story

This was my third attempt to watch Bakemonogatari and I’m glad to announce that it does get better. In a world of fast paced anime, it can be hard to slow down and watch a show that spends fifteen minutes of a twenty-four minute episode in the back of a car. When I say that Bakemonogatari is slow, I mean it moves at a pace slower than molasses. Characters spend whole episodes sitting ...

    It was great, totally
The anime is very interesting and appealing to the eye, which keeps me coming back for more. I love the Araragi as a character as a character. He's very relatable as a person, well, more as a guy. I do find that the anime does take some adjusting to because of the cut scenes that I'd have to admit are a bit quick for the first season. I did love that, even though I didn't at first, I came to love ...

Non-chronological storytelling is part of the mystery
For people feeling lost and sensing that you're missing something, relax. This collection of anime is all about mystery. Enjoy the ride. You aren't meant to necessarily know what's happened in the past. As you can see, much of the story has aired in a non-chronological order. That's part of the experience. I recommend sticking with the order the episodes aired.

    Sequential ...

    Unique and Interesting
While reading other reviews,I saw some people saying it was repetitive,or even normal. They're opinions are okay,of course,I'm not against that, but there are so many reasons as to why they're wrong. The show presents an odd,yet somehow appealing art style, flashing messages on the screen and viewing the characters from odd angles to create a strange perspective for the viewer. The art isn't nearly as ...
