  • Best show ever!!!!!!
Barakamon is a great anime, with the characters having a fair bit of depth, and all being very easy to attach to. I found the character 'Naru' very sweet, and the islanders' interactions with Handa - or "Sensei", very fun to watch. The show is very warming, and when i got to the end of it, i was left with a hole in me.
    SEASON 2 PLEAAAAAAAAASE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very interesting!!!!
Easily got added to my list of interesting animes with comedy and slice of life. Liked how a loner gets caught up with all the people on the island and becomes part of them. Naru became my favorite character with her quirkiness. At the end we finally see how she sneaks into the house.

  • An absolutely beautiful show
I do not normally write reviews, and I do not care much for slice of life anime, particularly where kids are involved. Only gave this a shot after reading other reviews (also i was bored of the other genres), but I have to say, I have thoroughly enjoyed this one. It had me laughing hard on several occasions and I was actually smiling as it the ended, wishing there were more episodes.

    The main ...

  • Incredibly wonderful anime series
This was such a wonderful series to watch! I really enjoyed the characters as well as the character growth in the main character, Handa-Sensei. Naru was adorable and fun, and there were many funny moments. It was interesting to see Handa experience the island's traditions and festivals, as well as the day-to-day life of fishing, going to the beach and other things--particularly because he had such ...

  • No Thots Found - Original and cute.
Most comedy slice of life anime ive watched involves the protagonist being a highschool girl with melons bigger than manny from ice age. this was a breath of fresh air (no pun intended) and really funny. i want to givee it a 5, but 5s in my book are reserved for the animus that make me want to re-watch it within the next 20 minutes of finishing it. even if this rating is a 4 though.

  • hartwearming and cheerfull
To be honest the anime is nothing special and that's probably it's biggest strength.
The artwork is nice to look at, the animations are decent, the story is overall ok.
However the characters are so lovely and honest, my heart melted away.

Barakamon warms you up from the inside.

    I do recommend this anime
I've seen a lot of anime in my day, and I would class this one as a favorite of the slice of life genre. I have seen Sei-san grow into a more mature person from the beginning to the end, even if he isn't quite there yet. I gave this five stars because I believe there is nothing we should take away or add onto this anime. This gem should stay on the high shelf, and watched every summer.

  • Such a Fulfilling Series
I need to re-watch this before the summer weather is gone. I loved watching this, granted I can't point out many specific things since it's been a while. Anyways, thought it was cute how the Sensei could sometimes be like a father, sometimes like a brother, and sometimes like a friend to Naru. Would like a season two, fingers crossed!

  • It really does take a village
There is much more going on here than a simple slice of life story, even when you consider the tried and true "fish out of water" premise whereupon a self-centered city boy gets stuck in the country for a while and learns a few life lessons from the characters he meets there.

While that premise is certainly not new, it works well here, because what's going on here is a deeper tale of what ...
