    Poorly executed yet loyal adaptation
Berserk 2016 has many sins, some of which are forgiveable. The CGI is wooden, verging on uncanny valley territory. The brief appearances of some admittedly nice looking 2D art makes the 3D all the more jarring and off putting. The music, while okay on its own, clashes tonally with this darkest arc of Berserk(so far!). It is either the far too bright and uplifting "Ashes" (aka Hai-Yo) or painfully ...

A tad bit excessive in exaggerating are we?
-CGI elements a bit jarring, but expressive.
-Pacing stutters slightly in an effort to gel a few different arcs together.
-Animation is OK. CGI....hurts a bit.
-Captures the gloom and grit of early Berserk well.
-Music is fantastic, easily its strongest aspect.
-VA did a superb job as well.
    Honestly it's subpar, but bearable.
    Only just, though.

    Is it next week yet?
As I sit here thumbing through Vol. 1 of Berserk that I bought in 1990, I wonder what these "Berserk fans" are talking about in regards to blatant disregard to continuity. Yes, admittedly, the snake baron was removed and we will probably see the start in the next episode or two. I can understand moving that to a later time in order to establish Guts' identity to the viewer in the first episode ...

Where is the rest of the scenes?
What happened here, did IMPACT pictures get ahold of this first? They are good at the pan and scan let's keep the camera centered so you can't see what's happening sort of thing. Half of almost every scene seems to be missing, peoples heads and faces are missing, even the title cards have parts missing(the Japanese lettering above 'berserk') you don't always see some of the action taking place. It ...

Keep it coming! Berserk is awesome!
In an age of mundane, childish, cringe-inducing, pre-teen target audience anime dominating the mainstream, Berserk is a welcome breath of fresh air that I am proud to support. I am a huge fan of the manga and hope that this show continues for multiple seasons.

Season II. An excellent series. Outstanding Plot with epic fight scenes.
This is one of the best "dark" anime I've ever seen. It has horrific images, so if you are younger or sensitive to violence, look elsewhere. This picks up where season I left off, but as always with multiple twists of the plot; old enemies become allies and old friends become enemies. The one mystery remains, why the devotion to Casca? The graphics remain CG, but some of the best, the voice ...

A must watch for everyone! specially berserk fans
I have to say that as a big time berserk fan i always enjoy anything berserk related. This is a great show for anyone that likes action and a good story line give it a chance it just keeps getting better and better. It follows the Manga relatively closely specially in the later episodes. The beginning was changed a bit so if you are a berserk fan dont be thrown off. I believe this was done because ...

    Directed very poorly
Look, I understand if you want to forgive this adaptation's faults because you really want to see Berserk get an adaptation to draw in those who apparently can't read comics, but stop making excuses for it. It's poorly done, and not just because it looks terrible.

In the original, after the Golden Age arc, Guts slowly grows from a jerk who thinks he'll never love or trust anyone again ...

    Suffer along with guts!
The first most noticeable flaw with this adaptation of Berserk is obviously the animation. The CG is often hideous and dull, and the general animation is barely above the level of a slideshow. Despite this, the show could still be good if it had adapted the manga well. Just based on this first episode, it's pretty clear it's not going to win any points for that either.

The pacing and editing is ...

    Good story bad execution.
The story of Berserk is a dark and gritty one and well worth the read and watch, but not this particular variation. There are several issues with this anime.
    1. Poor camera angles for action sequences. The director of this anime isn't very experienced with 3D CGI and it shows it also doesn't help that the directors experience is with comedy anime. Cinematography for action and Comedy is ...
