Best Student Council

First off, the story was supposed to be given a 5 too, I have no idea what happened there. I actually found out about this anime because I was at a store with money. I'm rummaging through the anime aisle when I see a big cd-rom case titled "Best Student Council". So all I really heard about it at the time was that it caught my attention, now however, it is much more then that. It is my most favorite anime now. Too bad there's not more to the story, well, dubbed anyway.

When I first heard about this title, I just figured it was going to be another lame girl high school with stuck up girl council members. I was surprised to see how wrong i was. This is an anime that you can love the characters and the story is easy to get into. Though Pu-chan can be annoying he and Cindy are without a doubt the major Comic relief in this series.

In so many ways this show is an ordinary run of the mill slice of life anime with a bit of wish-fulfillment (a school owned by the students and financed by the extremely wealthy student council president?) thrown in. The story lines of any given episode are generally predictable, the animation quality is serviceable but not outstanding, and the humor is nothing special.

So why did I watch the whole series in a marathon over two days?

There's something strangely appealing in the relationship between our poor little orphan girl protagonist (not to mention her demonically-possessed hand puppet) and the student council president, as well as the other members of the council. Maybe I was just in a moe mood, but the slow development of their relationship caught me in the right way at the right time. Some day I'll have to go back and try to figure out just what it is that pulled me in...

This anime is pretty good, I find it funny and cute. The humor in it is awesome and I always find myself laughing. If you don't like shoujo-ai or yuri types of anime, then you probably don't want to watch this anime.
