  • Quite what you expect from the trailer.
It started out slow and steady and then BAM! They give you what to expect through the rest of the season. Not what i really expected for an anime with magic, but it wasn't disappointed either. It was brilliantly made and amazingly made use of shakespear's work. It's a little hard for a younger or non reader audience so i would only reccomend if you love suspence and have experience in literature.

  • Breath of fresh air.
Good show. It tugs on the emotions of frustration, but it leaves you satisfied. The dialogue is stimulating. Good art quality. Just the right amount of episodes. It flows consistently with few to no lulls in the plot.

  • Tempest or Hamlet (A review written on the intent not to spoil)
Story: This is a story of revenge, however, will the ending will be like Hamlet? Or will it end as the Tempest? This is the beautiful and amazing question that the show asks. The story revolves around Fuwa Aika, a philosophy obsessed picture of perfection, and her brother (Fuwa Mahiro) and his best friend (Yoshino Takigawa). (I do not consider this a spoiler since it happens in the first few ...

  • Possibly the best of its season
Blast of Tempest drew me in with the art style; at first, the story is not that compelling or intriguing, and it is set up like a fairly standard "something bad is happening -> defeat an enemy to fix it" shonen adventure formula. The character designs are cool, but their personalities don't bring anything new to the table. For the first few episodes, although wider themes are alluded to, nothing ...

    The means vs the end
The show started off excellent. The artwork is unlike most of the mainstream-styles, and the animation is smooth and action packed, at least at the start. What may seem to be another shounen-action show, later becomes completely centered around romance with loads of philosophical banter. The first few episodes of action reeled in an action-audience for a romance show of eighteen-some episodes that ...

  • Absolute Masterpiece of an Anime
Blast of Tempest is an anime with a riveting and engaging story that just keeps you entranced the entire way. Biggest factor to point out are the huge Shakespeare themes that the story revolves around. This adds the elegance and pace of the anime to masterpiece levels as is expected from the themes of Shakespeare.

For me, I have anime that are recommended, and then I have anime that are ...

  • A good thought-provoking anime
This was a good series. Very thought-provoking and interesting. Lots of Shakespeare references yet it all fits. It has several plot twists and very enjoyable characters. There is a lot of talking and debating which means if you love constant action you might be a little disappointed. However, it does have a lot of action scenes as well. I definitely recommend it.

  • Ingenuity at it's finest *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
I've got to be honest here - unlike most people, I wasn't hooked the minute I watched this. In fact, I watched about 10 minutes and gave up - my past self's lack of patience and unwillingness to let the plot unfold pretty much sealed the deal.

I find myself flabbergasted, 6 months later, at the mere fact that I could ever over look such a masterpiece.

An ingenious plot, great character ...

  • Le Sigh...Shakespeare and Love there's nothing better.
I cannot tell you how I tried to delegate out the episode for this series just to make it last a little bit longer...now that I've seen it to the end I don't know if I'm truly sad or content.

Aiwa's character was probably my most and least favorite character. I under estimated her importance however in the end she was quite beautiful. Her dedication to her staged character was so desperate, ...
