Bleach Episode 1

Meet Ichigo Kurosaki, age 15. He's a high-school student who possesses the uncanny ability to see ghosts. But when he meets Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper from the Soul Society who helps lost souls find peace, his not-so-normal life becomes even more abnormal. In order to save his family from the grips of a Hollow, an evil spirit that preys on humans, Rukia lends some of her powers to Ichigo. Much to her surprise, he absorbs most of her powers and in turn, he too becomes a Soul Reaper.

Bleach Episode 2

It's the morning after Ichigo's transformation into a Soul Reaper, and no one in his family has any recollection of the events. Even the memory of him slaying a hollow is forgotten. He heads off to school, where he finds Rukia in the awkward guise of a transfer student. Now that Ichigo has taken most of her Soul Reaper powers, she orders him to take her place until she is at full strength. Ichigo dismisses her request, just as a mysterious shadow begins to follow Orihime Inoue, a jovial classmate of Ichigo with a sad past.

Bleach Episode 3

Not all souls pass on properly into the Soul Society. Sadly, they are abandoned and become Hollows. In the midst of this transformation, they lose their hearts and seek out those they loved most while they were alive. Therefore, it is only natural that Orihime's brother Sora, who has become a Hollow, seeks her soul. Ichigo rushes to Orihime's house and finds the Hollow has forced Orihime's soul out of her body. Will Ichigo be able to save Orihime from her own brother?

Bleach Episode 4

Chad, Ichigo's classmate and friend, is given a cursed cockatiel. He brings the bird to school, along with a plethora of injuries to his large body. Sensing spirit energy in the bird, Rukia feels they need to perform a Konso on the cockatiel and help its soul pass on. That evening, an injured Chad is brought to Kurosaki Clinic. Ichigo and Rukia sense the presence of a dangerous Hollow emanating from Chad's wound. The following morning, Chad bolts from his hospital bed and is nowhere to be found.

Bleach Episode 5

Rukia and Chad battle the Hollow Shrieker which has haunted the "Cursed Cockatiel." They fight even though Rukia's powers still have not completely returned, and Chad is unable to see Hollows. But this Shrieker has beaten many Soul Reapers and committed countless sins. Meanwhile, Ichigo is taking Natsuki home after she collapses from the shock of seeing the tragic memories of a boy spirit inside the parakeet. And he has no idea of the danger that Rukia and Chad are in.

Bleach Episode 6

Rukia heads out to Urahara Store to purchase supplies which a Soul Reaper needs. The owner, Kisuke Urahara, is aloof and a bit of a mystery, but he stocks strange products which he buys from the Soul Society. The Soul Candy (gikongan) which Rukia had ordered previously has just come in. Its purpose is to provide a substitute soul for Ichigo's body when he transforms into a Soul Reaper. Ichigo can't wait to try it out...

Bleach Episode 7

Ichigo and Rukia set out in search of Ichigo's body which has taken over by a mod soul. Ichigo finds it at an elementary school, but the Other Ichigo has become too strong and gets away. In the midst of battle, Rukia receives a word through her Soul Cell Phone of a Hollow sighting, but the battery dies and she is unable to confirm its location. And the Other Ichigo, who has run away, senses a Hollow stalking a grade school student.

Bleach Episode 8

The Kurosaki family drops everything to visit the grave of Ichigo's mother. Ichigo intended to take a day off from Soul Reaper duties, but finds Rukia waiting for him at the cemetery. When she learns how Ichigo's mother died, Rukia suggests that perhaps the Hollow who came after him was the one who killed his mother. Ichigo refuses to listen and runs off. Then a Soul Reaper named Saidoh appears to take Rukia away from the temporal world in which she has overstayed.

Bleach Episode 9

The Grand Fisher appears before Ichigo and his friends. He is a Hollow who uses a lure to seek out humans with strong spiritual energy. Ichigo is shocked when he sees the lure. It has the shape of the young girl he saw six years ago when his mother died. Filled with rage and disbelief, he attacks the Grand Fisher. But losing his calm makes Ichigo easy prey... and even Rukia who comes to Ichigo's rescue is thrown aside.

Bleach Episode 10

The charismatic medium, Don Kanonji, exterminates evil spirits on his hit television program, "Journey to a Haunted Place" and the series comes on location to the town of Karakura. Ichigo hates ghost programs and refuses to go with Orihime and Keigo to see the live show, but is dragged along anyway by his father and Yuzu. Ichigo is disgusted by the crowd which has gathered, but suddenly he sees a Demi-Hollow. To make things worse, Kanonji's actions end up aggravating the Demi-Hollow...

Bleach Episode 11

Rukia has been totally accepted by Ichigo's circle of friends, and Ichigo continues his work as a Soul Reaper. On this day, the two set out to exterminate a Hollow, but when they get to the location, they find nothing. The soul they find there confirms that a Hollow had been there. In any case, they hold a Konso to help the spirit cross over, unaware of a shadow lurking in the background.

Bleach Episode 12

The last Quincy, who hates Soul Reapers — Uryu Ishida, challenges Ichigo to a duel. He will scatter bait to lure Hollows to the town and the one "who kills the most Hollows" will win. Ichigo adamantly refuses, but is forced into the duel when Uryu scatters the bait and the Hollows converge on Karakura Town. Since Hollows always seek out humans with strong spiritual energy, Ichigo hurries home, worried about his family. But his siblings are not the only targets.

Bleach Episode 13

The demonic hands of a Hollow reach out for Orihime and Tatsuki. The Hollow releases seeds which turn humans into zombies which attack other humans. Orihime and Tatsuki are surrounded by the student zombies. In their attempt to escape, Tatsuki is hit by a seed and is unable to move. She struggles against the Hollow and is hurled into the air. And at that moment, something which has lain dormant in Orihime awakens.

Bleach Episode 14

Ichigo and Ishida have their hands full with hordes of Hollows. During the battle, the story of the annihilation of the Quincy is told, and the reason why Ishida hates Soul Reapers becomes clear. Although at first, Ishida insists on fighting alone, the sheer number of Hollows has him worried. Ichigo then explains his reasons for fighting and suggests they join forces. Ishida is hesitant, but then a formidable new enemy appears before them.

Bleach Episode 15

Yuzu gives Kon a bath and on top of that, dresses him up in a dress with a flower ornament. Kon is irate, but Ichigo pays him no attention. After overcoming many difficulties together, Kon has developed a close affinity to the Kurosaki family. But believing that this sentiment was not reciprocated by the others, Kon leaves the Kurosaki house in search of a place where he would really belong. Rukia, meanwhile, questions herself for feeling so comfortable in the real world.

Bleach Episode 16

Two representatives from Soul Society appear before Rukia. They are 6th Company Asst. Captain Renji Abarai and Captain Byakuya Kuchiki, Rukia's older brother. Swinging his Zanpakuto, Renji demands to know the whereabouts of the human who took Rukia's Soul Reaper powers. Rukia is agitated by their presence. Meanwhile, Kon tells Ichigo that Rukia is missing.

Bleach Episode 17

Renji unleashes the full power of his Zanpakuto towards Ichigo who is unable to beat back this fierce attack. But Rukia knows that Ichigo will not give up no matter how overpowered he is. Fearing that Ichigo will be killed, Rukia throws herself before Renji to stop the fighting and tells Ichigo to escape. At that moment, Ichigo, who was close to collapsing, stands upright... as an enormous amount of spirit power flows from his body.

Bleach Episode 18

Rukia is taken back to Soul Society as Ichigo is helpless against Byakuya's fierce attack. His life saved in the knick of time by Urahara, and Ichigo is determined to go to Soul Society to save Rukia. The next day at school, Ichigo is shocked to find that Rukia has been totally erased from his classmates' memories. However, a few remember her existence. And Urahara begins special training with Ichigo to restore the spiritual power he lost.

Bleach Episode 19

The final lesson necessary to restore Ichigo's powers as a Soul Reaper is the Shattered Shaft. Ichigo's chain of fate is cut and unless he gets back his Soul Reaper powers in 72 hours, he will turn into a Hollow. Ichigo is deep in a hole in the underground training site below Urahara Shop, desperate to find a way out. Meanwhile, Orihime and Chad, who have also decided to go to Soul Society to rescue Rukia, receive special training of their own from Yoruichi.

Bleach Episode 20

At Soul Society, Captain Gin Ichimaru of the 3rd Company appears before Byakuya after receiving word of Rukia's execution sentence. Meanwhile, Ichigo, whose Soul Reaper powers have returned, begins special training with his Zanpukuto. Each Zanpakuto has a name, and its secret powers are released when its wielder calls out its name. Ichigo is urged to discover the name of his Zanpakuto. Finally, the day of departure to Soul Society arrives.

Bleach Episode 21

Ichigo, Ishida, Orihime, Chad and Yoruichi get past the Seikaimon and they are nearly swallowed up by the Kototsu in the passage way that connects the real world to Soul Society. But they make it safely to Soul Society, to the Rukon District, where konpaku live when they first come to Soul Society. Ichigo sets out for Seireitei which houses the Soul Reapers. Just then, a giant wall comes down from the sky, blocking Ichigo's path... and the Soul Reaper who guards the gate appears.

Bleach Episode 22

Standing before the The White Road Gate is Captain Gin Ichimaru of the Third Company. Unaware that Gin is a Soul Reaper Captain, Ichigo sets upon him, ignoring Yoruichi's warnings. Upon hearing Ichigo's name, Gin draws his Zanpakuto and attacks, forcing Ichigo to use Zangetsu to protect himself. Unable to open the gates, disappointment fills the entourage. Just then, the residents of Rukongai who had stayed hidden, come out onto the streets.

Bleach Episode 23

Ichigo and his entourage are attacked by men on boars. Ichigo crosses swords with their leader, Ganju, but in the middle of the fight, Ganju is shocked at the time on the clock and dashes off. Ichigo and his friends are shocked at this boar gang which has disappeared just as quickly as they appeared. The following morning, they prepare to set out in search of Kukaku Shiba who may hold the key to getting inside Soul Society. But Ichigo, whose match the previous night remains unfinished, is determined to stay back.

Bleach Episode 24

Kukaku Shiba, the one who knows how to get into Soul Society is Rokongai's top pyrotechnist. Furthermore, she is the older sister of Ganju, who appeared the previous night on a boar. Kukaku explains how she will get them into Soul Society. She will gather their spiritual energy and form it into a giant ball and fire it like a cannon into the skies over Soul Society. Although it sounds ridiculous, the entourage prepare to create a giant cannonball of spiritual energy. And Ganju, it seems, has a grudge against Soul Reapers.

Bleach Episode 25

With some advice from Ganju, Ichigo is finally able to control his spiritual energy in order to create the Cannonball. Now that they are ready to go, Yoruichi gives the group directions on what to do when they get to Soul Society. But Ichigo is totally spent from practice and falls asleep. Next to the sleeping Ichigo, Ganju feverishly practices the words that will control the Cannonball. He has decided to go to Soul Society with the group. And just before their departure, he explains the reason for his hatred of Soul Reapers.

Bleach Episode 26

The Cannonball is launched, and Ichigo and company make it over Seireitai. But because Ichigo is unable to control his spiritual power, they become stuck within the shakonaku (Soul Shield Membrane). Ichigo and the others desperately try to collect their spiritual energy, but in that instant, the Cannonball explodes and everyone begins a descent towards Seireitei -- Ishida with Orihime, Chad, Yoriuchi, and finally, Ichigo with Ganju. Ichigo and Ganju make a safe landing, but are confronted by Ikkaku and Yumichika, two Soul Reapers.

Bleach Episode 27

Inside the Seireitei, orders are given and a full-fledged search for the Ryoka is called into action. Rukia is transferred to the Shishinro Repentence Cell to await her execution and it is becomes more imperative that Ichigo and his fellow Ryoka learn of her whereabouts soon. Ichigo and Ikkaku's fight dramatically comes to a close; Ganju and Yumichika challenge each other's tempers during their continued battle; and Uryu and Orihime find themselves trapped in a raucous chase by a group of Soul Reapers.

Bleach Episode 28

Forced to stay alert and on their toes. Ichigo and the others continue to be hunted by Soul Reapers. Uryu and Orihime struggle to outwit Squad 11's Captain Zaraki and Lieutenant Yachiru in their ongoing chase, but end up in an even more threatening encounter with Jirobo, a towering Soul Reaper, who quickly identifies Uryu as a Quincy. Yumichika's obsession with vanity is amplified as Ganju relentlessly tries to conquer him in battle. In his search to find Ganju, Ichigo finds himself chased by a new slew of soul reapers as he makes his way through the maze of walls.

Bleach Episode 29

Uryu's days of training pay off as he is able to protect Orihime and himself from Jirobo and his zanpaku-to, known as Tsunzaki Garasu. Ganju and Ichigo finally run into each other, but each brings with them a trail of angry Soul Reapers. Their attempt to hold the weak and unappreciated Hanataro hostage fails when they learn that he is a member of the weakest squad. Meanwhile, Captain Kurotsuchi questions Ikkaku about the intruding Ryoka with no success. However, when Captain Zaraki arrives, Ikkaku's tongue begins to loosen.

Bleach Episode 30

Hanataro leads Ichigo and Ganju toward the Repentance Cell where Rukia is being imprisoned using an underground network of sewage system passageways. As Hanataro guides them, he recounts the stories that Rukia had told him about her time in the world of the living with Ichigo. Upon their arrival just outside the White Tower, Renji Abarai appears and challenges Ichigo to a fight to the finish. Uryu and Orihime, still separated from Ichigo and Ganju, sense Ichigo's rising Spirit Energy as he prepares for battle against the powerful Lieutenant.

Bleach Episode 31

As Renji and Ichigo engage in battle, Ichigo remembers his days of intensive training under Urahara prior to entering the Seireitei. Ichigo is forced to face and overcome his biggest fears as he proves that he has indeed developed into a opponent strong enough to face Renji.

Bleach Episode 32

Renji faces defeat, and in his last living moments, recalls his youth, struggling as a poor street kid with Rukia in "Hanging Dog" aka the Seventy-Eighth District of South Rukongai. He describes how they both came to move to the Seireitei to become Soul Reapers, and Rukia's adoption into the noble Kuchiki family. As Renji struggles to atone for the sins of his life, he blames himself for Rukia's forthcoming execution. In his final breaths, Renji asks Ichigo to promise to save Rukia.

Bleach Episode 33

Back in the world of the living, Karin and Yuzu find themselves entrusted with a mysterious cat that falls from the sky which draws the attention of a number of deadly Hollows. Along with Jinta and Ururu, they are recruited by television personality Don Kanonji to learn how to fight bad spirits and protect their town. Although they are skeptical about working under Don Kanonji's leadership, they are excited about becoming television stars, known as "Karakura Superheroes."

Bleach Episode 34

After word spreads of Renji's defeat, an all-out war is declared on the Ryoka, allowing all Captains of the Seiretei permission to carry and release their zanpaku-tos. However, Momo Hinamori becomes increasingly suspicious about the changes taking place around her. In the underground sewage tunnels of the Seireitei, Hanataro continues to treat Ichigo's wounds inflicted during his battle with Renji.

Bleach Episode 35

When Captain Aizen is discovered slain and hung, Hinamori quickly suspects Ichimaru. In a bout of revenge, Hinamori tries to attack Ichimaru, but is stopped first by Lieutenant Kira and then by Toshiro Hitsugaya, the captain of Squad 10. Ichigo and Ganju continue to receive healing treatments from Hanatoro until they are well enough to continue their journey to the White Tower. Meanwhile, Chad learns the whereabouts of Rukia and the White Tower and makes his own way toward the Senzaikyu, unaware that he has been detected by Lieutenant Ise and Captain Kyoraku.

Bleach Episode 36

As Ichigo, Ganju, and Hanataro make their way to the top of the Senzaikyu staircase, they sense an unprecedented, vast amount of unrecognizable spirit energy. The source of this spirit energy reveals itself as Kenpachi Zaraki, the captain of Squad 11, who Ichigo had been earlier warned of during his battle with Ikkaku Madarame.

Bleach Episode 37

Chad's journey to the Senzaikyu is interrupted by the Captain of Squad 8, Shunsui Kyouraka. Kyouraka's laid-back mentality and attempt to convince Chad to retreat irks Chad and tries his patience. Chad realizes that time is of the essence and that he must proceed to meet the rest of the Ryoka. As Chad starts to battle, he has flashbacks to the world of the living where he is reminded of his promise to Ichigo.

Bleach Episode 38

Chad continues to persevere against Captain Kyouraka. Ichigo, still battling Captain Zaraki at the Senzaikyu, senses a loss of Chad's Spirit Energy and fears for the worst. Ichigo grows angrier and more determined as his sense of responsibility for the rest of the Ryoka increases, leading him to stand up to Zaraki in battle...

Bleach Episode 39

After being attacked by Captain Zaraki's sword, while lying weak on the ground, Ichigo is greeted by a metaphysical version of his zanpaku-to, Zangetsu. Zangetsu takes Ichigo to develop his understanding about the nature of his zanpaku-to. When Ichigo calls a surprised Captain Zaraki into battle again, he has a renewed confidence in the strength of his fight.

Bleach Episode 40

Ichigo and Captain Zaraki lie motionless on the ground after their battle. Zaraki admits defeat and remains alive just long enough to recount his meeting with Yachiru. Yoruichi finds Ichigo and takes him away for treatment. Ganju and Hanataro continue toward the White Tower to save Rukia. When they arrive in Rukia's holding cell, Ganju realizes that Rukia is not who he expected her to be...

Bleach Episode 41

Yoruichi's true form is revealed, much to Ichigo's surprise. Ichigo finds a mysterious mask that he remembered Hanatoro throwing into an underground tunnel. Sensing great Spirit Energy near the Repentance Cell, Ichigo defies Yoruichi's orders and flees to assist Ganju and Hanatoro. Captain Kuchiki and Captain Ukitake are both surprised by Ichigo's Captain-like level of Spirit Energy. Rukia is upset with Ichigo for coming to the Soul Society, but it does not sway Ichigo's determination to save her...

Bleach Episode 42

Yoruichi appears as Ichigo prepares to face Squad captains Kuchiki and Ukitake. In order to save Ichigo from a fool's battle, Yoruichi pounds an anesthetic into Ichigo, rendering him unconscious. Yoruichi's flash steps prevent the two of them from being struck by Kuchiki, and she promises to return in three days when Ichigo will be stronger. Meanwhile, Orihime decides that she and Uryu should disguise themselves as Soul Reapers to reach Rukia's cell.

Bleach Episode 43

Orihime and Uryu, dressed as Soul Reapers, are met by members of Squad 12 who offer to help them, but Uryu quickly realizes that it is a trap. Squad 12's Captain Kurotsuchi presents himself to Orihime and Uryu, criticizing Uryu as a Quincy who has no chance of winning this fight. Uryu orders one of the remaining members of Squad 11 in the area to take Orihime and run away, acknowledging the fact that Kurotusuchi is more interested in her than a mere Quincy. As their fight progresses, Kurotsuchi's actions and words become increasingly more provocative and infuriating to Uryu.

Bleach Episode 44

Uryu has taken it upon himself to avenge the humiliation of Soken Ishida, his Quincy master and grandfather, by continuing to relentlessly battle Captain Kurotsuchi. Uryu draws upon all of the lessons he has learned, and powers he has skillfully obtained, leading Kurotsuchi to decide that rather than kill Uryu, he wishes to capture him so as to study his distinctive powers.

Bleach Episode 45

Yoruichi trains Ichigo, educating him about the potential to transcribe a zanpaku-to's main form and materialize it. He is moving toward bankai training from the shikai training of dialogue and harmonization, and to do so he must face and conquer difficult challenges set forth by Zangetsu. Uryu, Ganju, and Chad are reunited in a shared prison cell, where they wonder why their wounds have been treated and they haven't been killed. Orihime has also been captured and kept alive, although she is in a different holding location.

Bleach Episode 46

Momo recalls her training at the Soul Reaper Academy, where she recounts meeting and being a member of a group field training session with Izuru Kira and Renji Abarai where they must venture to the World of the Living and participate in a training exercise against Dummy Hollows. It is also at the Soul Reaper Academy where she first meets Captain Aizen, where he compliments her as a outstanding student among her classmates.

Bleach Episode 47

Momo, Renji and Kira have all escaped from their cells. Momo, having read the letter that Captain Aizen left for her, believes that she understands the true reason behind Rukia and that she has identified Aizen's killer. However, when faced with the presumed culprit, Momo weakens with confusion and the possibility of a faked letter becomes increasingly evident. Meanwhile, Ichigo completes Day 1 of his training under Yoruichi, and uncovers some interesting background information about Kisuke Urahara aka Mr. Hat and Clogs.

Bleach Episode 48

Rukia's execution date is advanced to a final time on the following day. Toshiro wonders if the acquisition of the Sokyoku is actually the intent of Ichimaru. Renji Abarai joins Yoruichi and Ichigo on the same training ground, with the similar goal of attaining bankai. Renji brings with him news of the twenty-nine hour countdown to Rukia's execution. In her holding cell, Rukia has a revealing dream that she understands as preparation of her strength and comprehension of the next day's events.

Bleach Episode 49

Within Rukia's dream, she recalls the past which she spent training under Lieutenant Kaien and Captain Ukitake. The young Rukia admires the Lieutenant very much, and has a difficult time acknowledging what she must do after his body is taken over by a Hollow, set to attack the rest of her Squad members.

Bleach Episode 50

In the world of the living, Don Kanonji searches for a way to save his television show, as its ratings continue to plummet. He discovers Kon- the mod-spirit trapped inside the body of a stuffed animal- and decides to make Kon the mascot of his show. After naming Kon, "Karakura King", he is able to attract Yuzu, Jinta, and Ururu back to his cause, and they become Karakura Pink, Yellow, and Red: superheroes of Don Kanonji's television show.

Bleach Episode 51

Preparations are underway for Rukia's execution, when Ganju, Uryu, and Chad receive unannounced visitors to their prison cell. Kenpachi, Yumichika, Yachiru along with Orihime, break into the prison cell to assist the Ryoka in an escape. Once they are discovered by Captain Komamura, Captain Tosen, Lieutenant Iba, and Lieutenant Hisagi, Kenpachi is left to prove his strength once again.

Bleach Episode 52

As Ichigo continues his Bankai training, Renji emerges from his own Bankai training to save Rukia. But standing in his way is none other than his own captain -- Byakuya Kuchiki. Does Renji have the strength to defeat his one-time comrade or will he be ripped to shreds?

Bleach Episode 53

As Rukia Kuchiki is being lead to her execution, she is stopped by the ever-devious Gin Ichimaru. Just when Rukia has prepared herself for death, her concentration is broken by Gin's offer to let her live and her concern over Renji, whose pain she can sense. Driven by his intense hatred for Kenpachi Zaraki's bloodlust, Kaname Tosen, along with his confidant Sajin Komamura, challenge Kenpachi to a fierce battle between captains.

Bleach Episode 54

Rukia stands on the Sokyoku at the brink of her execution, not knowing that help is on the way. Captain Ukitake, Captain Kyoraku, Ichigo, and his dedicated comrades are all racing to save her life. Will they make it in time or will the power of one million zanpaku-to consume her life?

Bleach Episode 55

While Renji hurries to get Rukia out of harm's way, Ichigo stays behind to hold off Byakuya Kuchiki. Though Rukia was wrong about Ichigo's ability to save her from execution, she does not believe that he can survive another battle with her brother. In an attempt to distract Soi Fon, Yoruichi comes to Ichigo's aid and battles her. At the same time, Captain Ukitake and Captain Kyoraku are in hot water as Head Captain Yamamoto takes the punishment of his two most trusted captains into his own hands for their assisting in the rescue of Rukia.

Bleach Episode 56

Captain Ukitake and Captain Kyoraku face the punishment meted out by Head Captain Yamamoto's zanpaku-to. Ukitake and Kyoraku were the first two men to graduate from the Soul Reaper Academy, but even though they are two accomplished captains fighting as allies, the odds do not appear to be on their side. After coming to Ichigo's rescue, Yoruichi learns that her encounter with former subordinate Soi Fon is going to be much more than just a scuffle. After one hundred years of training, Soi Fon has developed plenty of talent as a warrior, though she may be a bit too sure of her skill.

Bleach Episode 57

Fueled by anger and feelings of abandonment and betrayal, Soi Fon persists in her attempt to destroy her former master Yoruichi Shihouin, but her abilities may be hampered by her cocksure attitude. At the execution site, the battle between Ichigo and Byakuya Kuchiki continues. Having completed his bankai training, Ichigo has a newfound confidence that may be the key factor in his attacks against Byakuya.

Bleach Episode 58

The fierce battle between Ichigo and Captain Byakuya rages on. Ichigo taunts Byakuya and demands that he use his bankai against him, while Byakuya remains visibly unmoved by Ichigo's amazing display of power. After defeating Hitsugaya, Captain Aizen heads for the Execution Grounds. Renji is dumbfounded as he finds himself facing Captains Aizen, Ichimaru, and Tossen at Sokyoku hill, the very same place that he was carrying Rukia away from. Captain Aizen demands Renji to put Rukia down and disappear, but there is no way Renji is going to abandon his childhood friend.

Bleach Episode 62

Furious after hearing the news of the defection of three captains, Sajin Komamura arrives at the Sokyoku ready to beat the treachery out of Aizen and his lackeys. Captain Komamura quickly realizes that deception is even a part of Sosuke Aizen's fighting technique, and the rogue captain proves to be more of a challenge than he expected. Ichigo, battered after his clash with Byakuya Kuchiki, lies helplessly on the sidelines, watching this battle between captains.

Bleach Episode 63

eace returns as the Soul Society recuperates from the deep wounds left by the treachery of Captain Aizen and his partners in crime. Captain Komamura and Lieutenant Hisagi visit the graves of fallen comrades, while Hitsugaya visits Hinamori and hopes for her quick recovery from the wounds she received from Captain Aizen. Ichigo has recovered from his own injuries, and in the district of Squad Eleven he meets up with Orihime, who informs him that Rukia has gone missing.

Bleach Episode 64

Ichigo and his friends have returned from the Soul Society and are finally able to get back to their "normal" lives. On the first day back at school, Renji shows up unannounced, dressed in his out-dated seventies' fashion. Since things have settled down in the Soul Society, Renji has been sent to Karakura Town to oversee the eradication of Hollows, and Ichigo has no choice but to work with him. Meanwhile, Yoruichi has become aware of an unusual presence in town.

Bleach Episode 65

Ichigo and his friends meet at school and set out to look for Orihime the day after her disappearance. It seems that her school chums have lost all memories of her existence. The only clue that Ichigo and the others find at the site of her disappearance is a bizarre, round footprint. Renji gets a call on his Soul Pager telling him, "I have your friend. You'll get her back if you win."

Bleach Episode 66

After Chad's kidnapping, Ichigo and the others go to Urahara to explain their predicament. Ichigo receives a phone call from Lirin who instructs Ichigo to bring all of his friends to the Karakura Museum. Though they know they are walking into a trap, they go to the museum and immediately find themselves stuck inside a labyrinth that they must navigate their way through in order to free their friends.

Bleach Episode 67

Chad and Orihime are rescued, but when Lirin tells them that one of their friends has been replaced by an impostor, they realize that the game is not over. Ichigo, Renji, Uryu, Chad, and Orihime struggle to figure out which one of them is the phony, and if they don't hurry, all of their classmates will disappear.

Bleach Episode 68

Lirin sets in place a giant gate that begins to devour everything in Karakura Town. The only way to have Chad released and save the town is to destroy the gate. Ichigo and the others have only thirty minutes before the gate sucks up everything in the vicinity. Meanwhile, Yoruichi and Soifon discover a strange soul wandering the streets of the World of the Living.

Bleach Episode 69

New information has come to light regarding an unusual race known as Bounts. Kisuke Urahara explains that Bounts are beings that gain eternal life by absorbing the souls of humans. Urahara warns Ichigo that he and his friends may be in danger because Bounts tend to target humans with high-level abilities. Lirin, Noba, and Kurodo prove to be very useful when it's revealed that they all contain reishi sensors that can detect Bounts.

Bleach Episode 70

Ichigo and Lirin find themselves in a pinch when they are attacked by the Bount Yoshino Soma and her Doll, Goethe. An unexpected visit from Rukia comes just in the nick of time, but she and Ichigo appear to be outmatched when the Bount Ryo Udagawa and his Doll, Friede, join the fight.

Bleach Episode 71

Ichigo, Rukia, Orihime, Chad, and Uryu surround the Bount Ryo Udagawa, but they find themselves at a slight disadvantage when he releases the immense power of his Doll, Friede. Friede's snakelike attacks are quickly directed towards Uryu when Udagawa finds out that Uryu is a Quincy.

Upon visiting Uryu in the hospital, Ichigo and Rukia must fight off a wave of rushing water that turns into a water doll belonging to two malevolent Bounts.

As Ichigo and his friends try to fight off Ho and Ban, the two Bounts, Udagawa tries to persuade Yoshino, a renegade bount, to return to Master Kariya's fold.

Yoshino finds Uryu and takes him back to her home to protect him. There, she reveals to Uryu her difficult life as a Bount and hope she had been given by Kariya.

Thrown together by fate, Uryu and Yoshino find themselves strange allies in a desperate fight against Koga and his feminine killing machine, Dalc.

Ichigo, Rukia, Ririn, Noba, and Kurodo enter Jin Kariya's mansion and come face to face with him and the other Bounts. As Ichigo challenges Udagawa. Rukia rushes deeper into the mansion to rescue Uryu.

Rangiku, Izuru, Shuhei, and Yumichika enter the cave where one of the Bounts, Ugaki, has set up an enormous trap using Doll Gesell.

Ichigo, Renji, Rukia, Chad, Orihime, and the others enter the cavernous hideout of the Bounts. As they cautiously proceed, the eyes of the Doll Gesell suddenly appear. They follow Gesell's eyes deeper into the cave and a battle ensues. Meanwhile, Squad 12 Lieutenant Nemu Kurotsuchi confronts Uryu, who was training deep in the mountains to regain his powers.

Near the end of Gesell's labyrinth, the Doll reveals her true form to Ichigo and Renji. Ichigo stands ready with his zangetsu, but Renji steps forward and insists on taking her on solo. Renji, who has been fighting alongside Ichigo since arriving in the World of the Living, regrets his past carelessness. Feeling guilty that he was unable to save some souls, Renji wants to turn this desperate situation into an opportunity to redeem himself. A fierce battle between Renji and Gesell in their true forms is about to begin.

The true mission of the Bounts is disclosed by Jin Kariya during a burly fight with Ichigo. Kariya explains the origin of the Bounts and their plan to destroy the Soul Society. As their brawl advances, Ichigo's Getsugatensho is proven useless as his very own Zanpakuto is turned against him.

Bleach Episode 92

The Bounts arrive in the Soul Society and find themselves immediately engaged in war. Kariya and Koga are greeted by two of the Seireitei's finest, Squad 2 Lieutenant Marechiyo Omaeda and Squad 7 Lieutenant Tetsuzaemon Iba. The Bounts' ability to rapidly gain power by absorbing reishi while in the Soul Society has tipped the scales in their favor considerably. Ichigo and the others are in for a suprise when they find out that the metal doll, Dalk, is stronger than ever and eager to terrorize the men of the Soul Society.

Bleach Episode 93

Back in the Soul Society, Rukia is at a stand still as she faces the ever arogant Yoshi in the middle of the Rukon District. With Lirin by her side and lacking most of her Soul Reaper powers, Rukia decides to stay and fight with what little spirit energy she has left. A Mod Soul and Martial Arts might not be enough to take on the reishi absorbing, blood thirsty Yoshi and her Nieder Sword Attacks this time.

Bleach Episode 94

There is quite a bit of commotion in the Soul Society as an explosion at the Shishinro Repentance Cell marks the declaration of war by Jin Kariya. The Bounts are causing a raucous and exhibiting their power in Kusjishi, the roughest part of the Rukon District, while the entire Soul Society prepares for the unavoidable war.

Bleach Episode 95

A fight in the forest is on as Jin Kariya and Captain Byakuya Kuchiki meet for the first time. A colossal amount of spiritual pressure surges through the trees when the power of these two veteran warriors collides. Kariya gloats as he effortlessly pairs his newly introduced Doll against Byakuya's Zanpakuto but neither of these two forces is easily discouraged. Meanwhile, Koga and Ichinose are hard at work recruiting the residents of Kusajishi to help take on the Seireitei.

Bleach Episode 96

Ichigo rushes to the site where Byakuya and Kariya are fighting and releases his Bankai upon Kariya. Byakuya also releases his Bankai to attack Kariya, but Ichigo and Byakuya are not in sync and can't harm Kariya. The three reach a deadlock. Suddenly someone attacks with immense spiritual pressure. She calls herself Rantao and is the creator of the Bounts. Meanwhile, Ganju and others arrive at Bull's hideout in Kusajishi.

Bleach Episode 97

Hitsugaya learns that the Bounts have gathered mobs of followers, so he goes to the forest in Kusajishi with Rangiku and Renji and starts investigating. Meanwhile, buildings in the Seireitei that were destroyed by Ichinose are being restored. Mayuri notices something and returns to the Department of Research and Development. In the meantime, Kenpachi and Yachiru get ready for a fight at the Squad 11 barracks. The tension in the Seireitei heightens as the Bounts make their move.

Bleach Episode 98

Hitsugaya and the others arrive at the Bounts' hideout, where Ichinose is waiting for them alone. Ichinose plans to detain them himself to help Kariya and his group, who are already headed for the Seireitei. Ichigo and Chad arrive, and with the others, they surround Ichinose, and he releases his zanpakuto, Nijigasumi, to take control of Ichigo and others. But someone appears in the crowd and blows out Ichinose's Nijigasumi with immense spiritual pressure.

Bleach Episode 99

Kariya and the others successfully open the Seireimon using the mobs from Kusajishi. Upon entering, they attack not only the Soul Reaper guards, but the mobs as well—and confusion reigns. Ichigo and the others leave Orihime to take care of the injured gate guards and enter the Seireitei. In the Seireitei, the captains hold an officers' meeting to discuss what action they will take. Meanwhile, the Bount Mabashi enters the Seireitei and attacks the Soul Reapers using Ritze.

Bleach Episode 100

Soi Fon is poisoned by a member of her punishment force, which is under Ritze's control. Having increased her power, Ritze now can control several Soul Reapers at a time. The punishment force Ritze controls begin fighting each other in front of Soi Fon. The poison has affected Soi Fon, and she is barely able to escape. Soul Reapers who were controlled by Ritze fight each other everywhere, causing a big disturbance in the Seireitei. Shuhei, who had fought Ritz, and Captain Komamura of Squad 7, try to save the day.

Bleach Episode 101

Sawatari enters the Seireitei and sees Mayuri Kurotsuchi, the captain of Squad 12. Mayuri proposes that he become a guinea pig for an experiment, but Sawatari refuses and attacks Mayuri using the Doll Baura. Mayuri releases his zanpakuto to counterattack, but he is severely injured by Baura, who has become more powerful since coming to the Soul Society. In the middle of the battle, Mayuri sees the key to Baura's attack.

Bleach Episode 102

The battle between the Soul Reapers and Bounts intensifies. Kariya suddenly appears at the Department of Research and Development, where he looks for an original crest of the Bounts and interrogates Nemu. Ichigo and Chad arrive there and challenge Kariya. Meanwhile, Uryu battles Yoshi, who kicks the Soul Reapers out of the Seireitei. Uryu purposely changes the battle site because he doesn't want to involve the injured Soul Reapers.

Bleach Episode 103

Uryu is severely injured by Nieder's attack but tries desperately to counterattack, though his weapon seems to have run out of power. Yoshi thoroughly revels in the fight in the Soul Society because she can do whatever she wants. Uryu seeks clues in an attempt to counterattack Yoshi. In the meantime, the Soul Reapers discuss what they will do after Kariya takes away the Jokai Crest, which has the power to destroy the Seireitei. The situation does not look good, and some captains no longer believe the fight.

Bleach Episode 104

The Soul Reapers of Squad 10 find Koga. Hitsugaya, with all the Soul Reapers of Squad 10, uses Kurodo as a Bount sensor and tries to capture Koga, who is hiding in the Seireitei. Under the orders of Hitsugaya and Rangiku, Squad 10 members pursue Koga, but he interferes with their communications system and attacks. Hitsugaya sees his men lying injured and decides to fight Koga alone. Hitsugaya releases Hyorinmaru and begins battling Dalk.

Bleach Episode 105

Captain Hitsugaya has defeated Koga, leaving Jin Kariya as the last surviving Bount. When Hitsugaya returns to the Squad Ten barracks, he finds that Ichigo and his friends have made themselves at home while Uryu recovers from his fight with Yoshi. Jin Kariya, having obtained the Jokai Crest, has been in hiding until the Crest's power has filled his body. Kariya is attacked by Rantao and during their fight, the secrets from her past are revealed.

Bleach Episode 106

During the battle between Jin Kariya and Rantao, Karyia learns the origin of his powers. Rantao pleads with Kariya to use the Jokai Crest to save the Bounts and he is forced to remember his lifetime of oppression and his reasons to destroy the Soul Society. Meanwhile, Uryu has had time to heal and is on his way to join the fight.

Bleach Episode 107

Ichigo arrives just in time, as Uryu and Rantao struggle to fend off Jin Kariya. Captain Hitsugaya and the others try to go after Ichigo, but Rantao stops them. She explains that there are many Jokai Crests within the Seireitei and that there is a risk they will all explode if Kariya's Crest is released. Squad Ten informs Head Captain Yamamoto of these possible dangers and all Soul Reapers are mobilized to find and seal the remaining Crests.

Ichigo and Renji visit the Kuchiki home to see Rukia but she hasn't fully recovered from her fight with the Bounts. Ichigo and the others reflect on their own pasts as they talk about their experience with the Bounts.

Bleach Episode 110

It's back to high school and Hollow slaying for Ichigo Kurosaki, who is now officially recognized as a Substitute Soul Reaper by the Soul Society. On the day he returns to Karakura First High School, Ichigo meets an unusual new student named Shinji Hirako. That night, while Ichigo is fighting a Hollow, he is attacked by Shinji who is wielding a Zanpakuto. At that moment, several a massive amount of spiritual pressure approaches Karakura Town.

Bleach Episode 111

Uryu is attacked by a Menos Grande and is saved by his father, Ryuken. Ryuken defeats the Menos with a single attack. He tells Uryu that he can help him regain his powers but only under Ryuken's conditions. Meanwhile, Kon is in Ichigo's body and he is in trouble because he is being chased by Grand Fisher. Kon desperately tries to get away, but he is cornered in an urban area.

Bleach Episode 112

Isshin Kurosaki shows up in his Soul Reaper form and defeats Grand Fisher with a single strike. When Kisuke Urahara appears, Isshin and Kisuke discuss the fact that Sosuke Aizen has made contact with Hollows and is attempting to create a form of Hollows with Soul Reaper powers called Arrancars. Meanwhile, Shinji Hirako reveals that he has come to Karakura Town to recruit Ichigo into the Visoreds, a group of ex-Soul Reapers that have crossed over into the realm of the Hollows.

Bleach Episode 113

Ichigo senses that the hollow within him is getting stronger and fears that he'll be swallowed whole in his current state. Meanwhile, the Soul Society's Department of Research and Development detects large amounts of spiritual pressure headed toward Karakura Town. The spiritual pressure is from fully developed Arrancars sent by Sosuke Aizen. The Arrancars begin attacking defenseless humans as soon they arrive in the World of the Living.

Bleach Episode 114

Orihime and Chad are in danger and Ichigo rushes to their aid. He immediately uses his Bankai and clashes with the brutish Arrancar, Yammy. Ichigo overwhelms Yammy with his speed and forces him to draw his Zanpakuto. Just then, Ichigo's inner Hollow takes control in an attempt to disable him from continuing the fight.

Bleach Episode 115

Rukia, Renji, Ikkaku, Yumichika, Captain Hitsugaya and Rangiku have come to the World of the Living and they have found Ichigo still feeling depressed about his poor performance in the fight against the Arrancars. Ichigo quickly learns that he is not going to get away with feeling sorry for himself because Rukia has plans to snap him out of his funk, even if it means she has to beat him into shape.

Bleach Episode 116

Ulquiorra and Yammy have returned to the Hollow World, Hueco Mundo. They report to Sosuke Aizen and twenty other Arrancars about their fight with Ichigo and his friends. Ulquiorra has returned to Hueco Mundo without killing Ichigo and is ridiculed by his peers. Meanwhile, in the World of the Living, Captain Hitsugaya and the Advance Troops leave Ichigo's house in search of a place to stay.

Bleach Episode 117

The Arrancar, Grimmjow, has entered the World of the Living and he has brought a group of minions from Hueco Mundo with him. The Arrancars' goal is to kill anyone who possesses the slightest amount of spiritual pressure. Each of the bloodthirsty Arrancars sets out to find someone to destroy but they find a fight with well-trained Soul Reapers instead. Ichigo, Chad, and the Advance Troops fight hard to protect Karakura Town from the dangerous intruders.

Bleach Episode 118

Ikkaku and the Arrancar, Edrad, have a fierce battle in the streets of Karakura Town. Yumichika stands aside and watches because he knows that Ikkaku will be furious if he interferes. Edrad dodges Ikkaku's wild attacks and coldly analyzes his fighting style. He determines that Ikkaku will not admit defeat unless he shows him an overpoweringly greater strength. Meanwhile, Ichigo and Rukia defeat D Roy, and take on Grimmjow, who's spiritual pressure is like nothing they've ever seen.

Bleach Episode 119

Ikkaku releases his Bankai, Ryumon Hozukimaru, which he has kept a secret for some time. He clashes with Edrad, who shows his true power by releasing his zanpakuto. When the two enormous spiritual pressures collide, Ikkaku is thrown to the ground. As his consciousness fades, Ikkaku remembers the time before he joined the Thirteen Court Guard Squads.

Bleach Episode 120

The Soul Reapers struggle against the might of the Arrancars. Despite the Arrancar Shawlong's overwhelming strength, Captain Hitsugaya continues his attacks. Shawlong then reveals to Hitsugaya, the existence of Arrancars far more powerful then they are, the Espada, the strongest of the Arrancars. Hitsugaya shudders when he learns that one of the Espada has come to the World of the Living.

Bleach Episode 121

The Soul Reapers receive permission from the Soul Society to use Gentei Kaijo, a spiritual pressure restriction release. Soul Reaper Captains and Lieutenants have their spiritual pressure limited when they leave the Soul Society so as not to affect the spirits of the World of the Living unnecessarily. In other words, Hitsugaya and the other Soul Reapers have been fighting the Arrancars with only a fifth of their power. The Arrancars recoil at the sudden jump in spiritual pressure and decide to retreat but the Advance Troops pursue them with their attacks.

Bleach Episode 122

Grimmjow is the only survivor of the Arrancars' intense battle with the Soul Reapers. He returns with Tosen to Sosuke Aizen's palace, Las Noches in Hueco Mundo. While Aizen shows understanding towards Grimmjow's disobedience, Tosen decides that he should still be punished for his actions. Meanwhile, having lost terribly to Grimmjow, Ichigo visits the Visored Shinji Hirako.

Bleach Episode 123

Ichigo visits Shinji Hirako at the Visoreds' hideout in order to find out how to control his inner Hollow. He tries to get an answer by force, but Hiyori Sarugaki interrupts his battle with Shinji. Ichigo fights Hiyori while trying to suppress his inner Hollow but she is prepared to do everything she can to force him to release it.

Bleach Episode 124

Ichigo has begun training with the Visoreds in order to learn how to suppress his inner hollow. He enters his inner world and is greeted by the mirror image of himself holding a white Zangetsu. The two cross swords and release their Bankai simultaneously. Ichigo is forced to fight a more powewrful version of himself, which could be his most formidable opponent yet.

Bleach Episode 125

Ichigo has entered his inner world and is blocking fierce attacks made by another Ichigo who wields a white Zangetsu. Ichigo is cornered as images of Byakuya Kuchiki and Jin Kariya pummel him into the ground. Kenpachi Zaraki appears and tells Ichigo to be candid about his desire to fight and questions his determination. Meanwhile, Captain Hitsugaya and Rangiku are setting up a massive communication device at Orihime's house so they can contact the Soul Society.

Bleach Episode 126

Sosuke Aizen's ultimate goal of killing the Soul King has been revealed. The Soul Society has learned that in order to gain access to the Royal Family's palace, Aizen will need a key known as the Ouken. If Aizen is able to create the key, Karakura Town will be destroyed. Orihime visits Ichigo during his Visored training to inform him of this shocking discovery. Meanwhile, Uryu's intense training to regain his Quincy powers is reaching its final stage.

Bleach Episode 127

Ichigo and his friends undergo exhaustive training in preparation for the upcoming winter showdown with Sosuke Aizen. Kisuke summons Orihime to his underground training facility where she finds Chad sparring with Renji. Meanwhile, Ulquiorra has returned to Hueco Mundo with information that peaks Aizen's interest.

Bleach Episode 128

Captain Hitsugaya's advance troops remain in Karakura Town to prepare for the showdown with Sosuke Aizen. Rangiku is fascinated by life in the world of the living, and she finds it impossible to devote her time to training. During the shopping spree of a lifetime, Rangiku's Soul Phone alerts her of a Hollow appearance. Leaving her boy-crazy gigai behind, Rangiku arrives at the coordinates to intercept the Hollow.

Bleach Episode 129

Rangiku saves a young soul named Shota from being attacked by a Mock Arrancar. Believing this to be Aizen's doing, Captain Hitsugaya decides to hold off on Shota's soul burial to further investigate the situation. Meanwhile, the Mock Arrancar has returned and seems to be multiplying.

Bleach Episode 130

Hitsugaya and his advanced troops learn that Shota's little sister Yui was the Mock Arrancar's first victim. Shota abandoned Yui out of fear and blames himself for the entire incident. Rangiku finds it suspicious that Yui appears to be fine despite having been attacked by an Arrancar. Meanwhile, Hitsugaya is in pursuit of the Mock Arrancar within the residential district when he encounters an injured soul.

Bleach Episode 131

It is revealed that the Mock Arrancar gained an explosive amount of strength when it devoured Yui and has reanimated her soul to use her as bait to lure and attack human souls. While the Mock Arrancar attempts to absorb Shota's soul, it is met with a counterstrike from Rangiku. Cornered, the Mock Arrancar continues to multiply in order to better its odds against the highly skilled advance troops.

When a bullying group of middle school students refuse to give up the soccer field, Karin Kurosaki fearlessly agrees to lead her reluctant friends into a soccer match against the upperclassmen. The team that wins the game will gain the right to use the field while the losing team will have to eat the grass. With a hopeless squad of cowards on her team, Karin recruits the help of Soul Reaper Captain Toshiro Hitsugaya, who surprisingly knows a thing or two about soccer.

Karakura First High School's kendo team is ambushed, and the captain and all of the main members are seriously injured. The injured team members are worried they'll have to pull out of the regional tournament the following month, but the student body president, Kego's sister Mizuho, suggests that they have a practice match against their attackers. With all the regulars injured, however, only the freshmen are left. Mizuho asks Ikkaku to train the remaining team members, and for some reason Ikkaku accepts the request. And so begins Ikkaku's training from hell.

The Head Captain orders Mayuri Kurotsuchi to simplify the procedures to perform Gentei Kaijo, a restriction release for the Spiritual Pressure of the Advance Troops while in the World of the Living. Rin Tsubokura of the Department of Research and Development is sent to conduct some research in the World of the Living. While in the World of the Living, Rin is escorted by Hanataro Yamada and Yumichika Ayasegawa. In the middle of Rin's research, they come across a lone soul in front of a cake shop.

Bleach Episode 135

Kon, lonely and bored due to Rukia's and Orihime's absence, decides to pay a visit to Rangiku. While walking near the river, Rangiku and Kon witness a young girl fall off a bridge when she tries to save her stuffed animal. In order to rescue the girl, Miyuki, Rangiku takes Kon's soul candy out of his body and throws it into the mouth of the stuffed animal that Miyuki dropped. Kon finds that his duties as the girl's savior are a little more than he bargained for.

Bleach Episode 136

Trouble is brewing in Las Noches, Aizen's palace in the Hollow realm, Hueco Mundo. One of the Arrancars, Patras, rebels against Aizen and tries to steal the Hogyoku. Ulquiorra realizes what Patras is up to, but he is defeated when he is caught off-guard by Menis and Aldegor, who assist Patros in his rebellion. Upon obtaining the Hogyoku, the three go to the World of the Living, where they head to Urahara's shop in order to find Kisuke Urahara, the creator of the Hogyoku.

Bleach Episode 137

Renji's fight with Patras continues as it destroys Urahara's shop and parts of Karakura Town. Repeatedly overpowered by Patras's attacks, Renji leads the Arrancar into Urahara's underground training facility where he can safely use his Bankai. Meanwhile, Hitsugaya and the others engage Menis and Aldegor while the Arrancars are in their released state.

Bleach Episode 138

There are only a few months left until the showdown with the Arrancars. Ichigo continues to train with the Visoreds, but the amount of time in which he can remain Hollowfied hasn't increased by much. In the Soul Society, Rukia and Orihime have also been undergoing rigorous training. Ukitake happily watches the two and is pleased that Rukia finally has friends. Sosuke Aizen may have plans to cut their training short as he calls on his Espada.

Bleach Episode 139

Arrancars suddenly appear in the World of the Living. Yammy, Luppi, Grimmjow, and Wonderweiss are confronted by Hitsugaya's advance troops and Ichigo. Ichigo fights Grimmjow and immediately uses his Bankai. Meanwhile, Luppi, the newest Espada Number Six, takes on Hitsugaya and his troops by himself. He releases his Zanpakuto and knocks down Hitsugaya with the tremendous force of his eight tentacles. His tentacles then set their sights on Rangiku, Ikkaku, and Yumichika.

Bleach Episode 140

Hitsugaya's advance troops continue to fight the Arrancars who appeared in Karakura Town. Urahara shows up to help. He dodges Wonderweiss, but Yammy hits him with a flurry of Bala attacks. Meanwhile, Rangiku, Ikkaku and Yumichika are having trouble fighting Espada Number Six, Luppi, who has released his zanpakuto. And on the other side of town Ichigo has cornered Grimmjow.

Bleach Episode 141

Ichigo and his friends manage to drive away Grimmjow and the other Arrancars. But behind the scenes, Aizen orders Ulquiorra to bring Orihime to Hueco Mundo. Orihime agrees to go in exchange for the safety of her friends. She is given a twelve-hour reprieve and is allowed to say her farewells to only one person. Orihime prepares herself and leaves her room to say goodbye to the one person she has in mind. Meanwhile, Hitsugaya and the others are recovering from the injuries they received from their fight with the Arrancars.

Bleach Episode 142

chigo awakens to realize that the serious injuries he received from Grimmjow's attack have completely healed. He senses that Orihime came to his room from the traces of Spiritual Pressure that she left behind. Hitsugaya comes to get Ichigo, and they head to Orihime's room. Ichigo senses that something is odd when he sees Rukia and the others gathered there. A transmission comes in from the Soul Society and Captain Ukitake appears on the monitor. He tells them the terrifying truth: that Orihime is with the Arrancars and may already be dead.

Bleach Episode 143

Orihime has been kidnapped by Sosuke Aizen and the Arrancars. Ichigo decides to go to Hueco Mundo in order to save her. He visits Urahara's shop and finds Uryu and Chad waiting for him. They have both finished their training and are ready to join Ichigo in the rescue of Orihime. Meanwhile, in Hueco Mundo, Orihime is brought before Aizen in his palace, Las Noches.

Bleach Episode 144

Ichigo, Uryu, and Chad charge through the Garganta and into Hueco Mundo. There, they find themselves in a large corridor. They set off deeper into the building to search for Orihime, but as they move further down the corridor they find many traps left for them by the Arrancars.

Bleach Episode 145

Ichigo and his friends defeat the Arrancars Iceringer and Demora, whom they meet in underground corridor 22. They escape the underground just as it begins to crumble and come out onto the surface of Hueco Mundo. It is a world of night and white sand. They immediately find Aizen's palace, Las Noches, and are awed by its size. Meanwhile, Aizen calls a meeting with all of the Espada.

Bleach Episode 146

Ichigo and his friends save a girl who is being attacked by mysterious Arrancars. The girl is also an Arrancar, named Nel, and as it turns out, she was only playing tag with her Arrancar friends, Pesche and Dondochakka. Nel and her friends are oddly cheery, but when they realize that Ichigo is a Soul Reaper, they worry that Aizen will scold them for letting their enemies roam freely.

Bleach Episode 147

In a second attempt to defeat Runuganga, the Guardian of the White Sands, Rukia uses Sodenoshirayuki, but her attack backfires when she accidentally stabs Bawabawa in the back. Startled by his injury, Bawabawa begins flailing and sends Rukia flying through the air. Ichigo and his friends are swallowed by the desert of Hueco Mundo and fall into the Menos Forest, home of the Menos.

Bleach Episode 148

Ichigo and his friends have fallen into the Menos Forest. They fight off attacks from Gillians while they look for Rukia and Nel, who have been separated from the group. Rukia is hiding out of harm's way with a mysterious Soul Reaper named Ashido, and Nel was taken away by a group of Hollows. Just as Rukia and Ashido notice a drop in Ichigo's Spiritual Pressure, they sense something else in the forest approaching.

Bleach Episode 149

Ashido and Rukia continue to battle Pequenos, one of the Adjuchas who controls the Menos Forest. Pequenos attacks at full strength to try to end the long-shared enmity between him and Ashido. Meanwhile, Ichigo, Chad, Uryu, and Renji follow Nel and her friends' Spiritual Pressure to the depths of the Menos Forest. They find that Nel and her friends have been captured. At that moment, they are surrounded by a tremendous number of Gillians.

Bleach Episode 150

Ichigo and his friends arrive at Las Noches, Aizen's stronghold, where they break through a wall and charge into the palace. Ichigo tries to leave Nel behind, but she follows Ichigo into the palace and cries as she chases after him. At first Ichigo ignores her, but when he finally gives in, Nel suddenly disappears. In the darkness, Ichigo and his friends search the area where they last heard Nel's voice and find a hole that leads underground.

Bleach Episode 151

Ichigo, Uryu, Chad, Rukia, and Renji go their separate ways down the corridors of Las Noches and vow to safely reunite. Ichigo heads down a pathway on his own, but he is followed by Nel. He has no choice but to allow her to join him in order to keep her safe. Suddenly, he senses someone's Spiritual Pressure. An Arrancar named Dordoni stands in Ichigo and Nel's way. Dordoni is Espada Number 103 and doesn't appear to be very strong. Ichigo unenthusiastically accepts his challenge.

Bleach Episode 152

Dordoni the Arrancar is a Privaron Espada, a former Espada. Ichigo underestimates his strength and is quickly driven into a corner when Dordoni releases his Zanpakuto. Dordoni pushes Ichigo and demands to see his Bankai, but Ichigo refuses. He wants to fight Dordoni as he is in order to conserve his strength. Dordoni loses his temper and releases the blast of a massive Cero at Ichigo.

Bleach Episode 153

Dordoni makes a final attempt to win his battle, but he is defeated by a Hollowfied Ichigo. As Ichigo and Nel continue on their way to Las Noches, the Exequias, Hueco Mundo's execution squad, arrive to finish off Ichigo. Meanwhile, Uryu and Chad also move into the Privaron Espada area and begin fierce battles with triple-digit Arrancars.

Bleach Episode 154

In the depths of Las Noches, Rukia encounters Ninth Espada Aaroniero Arruruerie in an area with a blue sky. Aaroniero lures Rukia into a room and removes his mask. Underneath his mask is the face of Kaien Shiba, the former Thirteenth Squad Lieutenant who is supposed to be dead. Rukia is confused, but Kaien talks with her as if nothing happened. Kaien explains that because of the ability of the Hollow that took control of him right before he died, he was thrust into Hueco Mundo, where he was reborn.

Bleach Episode 155

Rukia is angered when Kaien tells her to hand over her friends in return for letting her go and is convinced that this Kaien is a fake. She attacks Kaien with every technique she knows, but he dodges them all. Kaien claims that he knows all about Rukia's ability because he's the real Kaien. When he releases his Zanpakuto, Nejibana, Rukia struggles to believe that this person could actually be her former lieutenant.

Bleach Episode 156

Uryu is having a tough time fighting against Privaron Espada Cirucci, whose whip attacks are ever changing. Pesche, who has come looking for Nel, stumbles upon Uryu's fight with Cirucci instead. Pesche attempts to run away in terror but is distracted when his eye catches the miniskirt of Cirucci who is standing on a high pillar.

Bleach Episode 157

Pesche's unusual ability allows Uryu to damage Cirucci. Cirucci releases her Zanpakuto and attacks the two until she has them cornered. Uryu uses Seeleschneider, the only bladed Quincy weapon, to counter her attacks as they get closer and closer. With Seeleschneider Uryu is able to cut through Cirucci's feathers. Figuring that her attacks will no longer that work against Uryu, Cirucci does something unexpected

Bleach Episode 158

Chad faces the Privaron Espada Gantenbainne and survives many of his fierce attacks. Chad reveals the power of his right arm, Brazo Derecho Del Gigante. Ever since he entered Hueco Mundo, Chad has sensed that his powers are closer to that of a Hollow's rather than a Soul Reaper or a Quincy. Cornered, Gantenbainne releases his Zanpakuto to defend against Chad's powerful attacks.

Bleach Episode 159

Nnoitra, one of the Espada, suddenly appears and defeats Chad in a single strike. Ichigo, Uryu, and Renji sense Chad's Spiritual Pressure grow weaker, but they are too far away to help him. Orihime, who is still being held by the Arrancars, also senses Chad's Spiritual Pressure. At that moment, Ulquiorra enters Orihime's room and informs her that her friends will soon perish.

Bleach Episode 160

Aaroniero has the ability to utilize the Spiritual Pressure of the Hollows that he devours. He devoured the body of the Hollow Metastacia that fused itself with Lieutenant Kaien Shiba before it died. Now he uses his power to gain its memory and abilities. Rukia, who is the Soul Reaper responsible for bringing down Metastacia while it was possessing Kaien's body, is shocked to see her former lieutenant before her. As Aaroniero releases his Zanpakuto, Rukia struggles to find the will to defend against his attacks

Renji meets Espada Number Eight, Szayel Aporro Grantz. Renji attempts to use his Bankai but fails because of restrictions that Szayel Aporro has placed on the room they are in that limit Renji's power. Szayel Aporro has extensive information on Renji's abilities. He plans to capture Renji unharmed so he can conduct further research on him. Meanwhile, all of the Espada in Las Noches are informed that Rukia defeated Espada Number Nine, Aaroniero.

Bleach Episode 162

Ichigo and Ulquiorra begin to fight in the depths of Las Noches. Ichigo fights Ulquiorra at full power right from the start, using his Bankai and even his Hollowfication. Ulquiorra is overwhelmed by his great strength, but strategically retaliates when Ichigo removes his Hollow's mask. Meanwhile, Renji's Bankai is sealed away as he fights Szayel Aporro. Szayel Aporro continues to have a home-field advantage as he effortlessly blocks Renji's attacks and calls on some of his subordinates

Bleach Episode 163

Lolly and Menoly are jealous that Aizen is treating Orihime well, so they go to Orihime's room to harass her. Orihime tries to stay strong, but they are relentless. At that moment, Grimmjow comes to Orihime's room. Meanwhile, Uryu comes to help Renji, and joins the fight against Szayel Aporro. Uryu takes advantage of an opening and pierces Szayel Aporro with Seeleschneider's blade. Szayel Aporro collapses, but Uryu is shocked when Seeleschneider suddenly disappears.

Bleach Episode 164

Szayel Aporro has analyzed Uryu's and Renji's Spiritual Pressures and has sealed away most of their abilities. The two decide to work together. Uryu says that he has a plan if Renji can stall Szayel Aporro for twenty seconds. Renji agrees and charges in, but Szayel Aporro easily deflects Zabimaru's attacks. Meanwhile, Ichigo has been defeated by Ulquiorra and has lost consciousness.

Bleach Episode 165

Grimmjow takes Orihime without permission and forces her to heal Ichigo. He wants to settle things with Ichigo while he's in his best condition. But before Ichigo's wounds heal, Ulquiorra comes when he realizes what's going on. Ulquiorra stops Ichigo's healing and demands that Grimmjow hand Orihime over to him. Grimmjow refuses and attacks Ulquiorra. The clashing Spiritual Pressures of the two Espada shake Las Noches.

Bleach Episode 166

A wild battle begins between Ichigo and Grimmjow. As swords and Spiritual Pressures clash, Grimmjow unleashes his strongest Cero, the Gran Rey Cero. Orihime and Nel are about to be caught in the attack, so Ichigo Hollowfies in order to save them. Grimmjow shouts for joy when faced with Ichigo's power. He releases his Zanpakuto and shows his most powerful form. Orihime watches as the battle rages on. She becomes frightened when she compares Ichigo's ominous Spiritual Pressure to that of her brother who became a Hollow.

Ichigo hits Grimmjow with a mighty blow. Grimmjow is about to collapse, but he grabs Zangetsu and pulls himself up. He begins to remember his time as an Adjucha, a Hollow that has an extreme hunger for souls. They continue to obsessively devour souls until they reach the level of Gillians, and then finally they become Adjuchas. But those who become Adjuchas have the fear of degenerating. If they don't continue to consume Hollows, they will degenerate into Gillians. Grimmjow continues to attack his fellow Hollows until he meets an interesting band of Adjuchas.

Bleach Episode 267

Below the Fifth Tower, Sado and Renji battle it out with a giant Hollow. But then, the sandman Batticaloa arrives to the scene. Batticaloa’s body is made of sand, so Sado and Renji have a hard time inflicting any damage on him. And Rukia, whose ice-snow Zanpakuto is the sole weapon that can contend with Batticaloa, is struggling in another battle against Rudobon. Meanwhile, Ichigo and Ulquiorra are still battling when Ichigo learns that Orihime has already been converted to Ulquiorra’s side. Ichigo pretends it doesn’t concern him, but he can’t hide his distress.

Bleach Episode 268

While Orihime is watching Ichigo and Ulquiorra’s battle from the sidelines, Loly and Menoly appear before her. They learned that Orihime is no longer of any use to Aizen, and they want to seize this opportunity to defeat her. Orihime has no means to fight back, and she gets hurt left and right. When Ichigo notices this, he tries to go rescue her, but Ulquiorra keeps getting in his way, and he is unable to get anywhere near Orihime. Amidst the chaos, a new enemy breaks through the floor of the Fifth Tower and appears before Ichigo and the others. The new enemy is none other than Yammy who came to assist Ulquiorra.

Uryu rushes to stop Yammy from attacking Orihime. Ichigo is surprised, but Uryu charges at Yammy without hesitation. Uryu notices that Ichigo, concerned about Orihime, was not using the power of his Hollowfication, and Uryu was trying to get the fight with Yammy over with as quickly as possible. However, Yammy’s body is tough, and every attack from Ginreikojaku’s arrow and Seeleschneider is repelled. Yammy triumphantly brings out a giant Cero on them. When Orihime and Uryu make it to the top of the dome, they see Ichigo collapsed in front of Ulquiorra. Orihime’s reaction is to rush over to Ichigo, but Ulquiorra tells her that it’s no use. Just then, Uryu hits Ulquiorra with his arrow. But like all of Ichigo’s attacks, Uryu’s arrow is ineffective against Ulquiorra. Ulquiorra attacks back and Uryu is no longer able to even draw his bow. Distressed by the situation, Orihime calls out to the immobile Ichigo for help. Then something happens to Ichigo’s body….

Kyoraku and Stark are both fighting defensively in their battle. But Stark’s expression changes when he spots Hitsugaya and Soi Fon’s Bankai. Kyoraku leaves his haori with Ukitake to confront Stark. Stark calls Lilinette over, and tells everyone that the two of them used to be one person. Stark then releases his Resurrección and takes on the form of Los Lobos. Kyoraku achieves Shikai and they continue to fight for real!

Having no enemies to conquer, Barragan would pit his subjects against one another to fight off his boredom. That was when Aizen arrived in Hueco Mundo.

Stark shows no sign of getting serious in his battle against Love and Rose. Running out of patience, Lilinette begins to mindlessly fire at the two Visoreds without Stark’s permission. But her attacks prove to be ineffective against the two, and she is gradually cornered by the pair’s fine team play. Finally, Love hits Stark with his Zanpakuto attack, and the Espada is thrown into a sea of flames.

Stark splits his own soul and shapes it into packs of wolves and launches them against Love and Rose. Preparing to deliver the finishing blow, Stark is caught off guard by Shunsui, who suddenly appears out of Stark’s shadow. Despite his best efforts to dodge the attacks, Stark is gradually weakened. Just then the wolves, headed by Lilinette, swarm over Shunsui. He brushes them off, and the wolves disappear. Stark calls out for Lilinette but hears no reply.

Las Noches. Long ago, Apache, at the time still an Adjucha-class Hollow, was hunted by other Hollows when Halibel saved her life. Apache soon joins Halibel’s group consisting of Sun-Sun and Mila Rose. As they spend more time together, Apache notices Halibel does not devour the enemies she defeats. When questioned, Halibel responds that she does not wish to become stronger by sacrificing others.

With the Espada gone, the Visoreds are now able to confront Aizen. Having been unwilling test subjects in Aizen’s past experiment, the Visoreds make no effort to hide their hatred toward the man who destroyed their lives. Hiyori, unable hold in her anger, is the first to attack Aizen with her blade. Meanwhile, Chad, Renji, and Rukia continue their fight against Yammy in Hueco Mundo.

Ichigo goes up against Yammy. Rukia notices that Ichigo is acting strange following his battle with Ulquiorra and shows her concern for him. The Thirteen Court Guard Squads and Visoreds launch a full-scale attack against Aizen. But Aizen makes quick work of their combined efforts. Just when all hope is thought to be lost, Hirako uses his Zanpakuto’s power to draw away Aizen’s attention, giving way for Hitsugaya to deliver the killing blow.

Head Captain Genryusai Yamamoto of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads steps in to battle Aizen. Wonderweiss is revealed to be a Mod Arrancar created by Aizen for the sole purpose of sealing away Genryusai’s zanpakuto, Ryujinjakka.

Meanwhile, to help Nozomi feel welcomed, Ichigo and the others decide to host a barbecue party, when Nozomi suddenly runs off.
