Seeing ghosts was ordinary for Ichigo, but when he encounters a Soul reaper, Rukia Kuchiki, his life takes a deep turn. It turns out that Rukia was trying to save Ichigo from an evil ghost known as a Hollow. In the ensuing battle, Rukia gets badly injured and has no choice but to transfer her powers to Ichigo.
